Chapter 29
"Harry come see me. I can't promise anything though." Alicia said, and hung up on him, not wanting to hear his voice anymore. She tossed the phone back down, and went to check on Steven and Astrid in the kitchen. Her eyes settled on the bar where Astrid sat, accompanied by Steven's soft hands on either side of her. There was a container of baby food tossed a side a tiny spoon, showing Alicia he'd already fed her.
"Harry's coming by." She told Steven hesitantly, waiting for his reaction.
"Did you invite him here, or am I gonna have to kick his ass?"
"Don't swear in front of Az!! I invited him hear, we have to work this out, and she needs him." Alicia said as she gestured to her restless child. Steven shook his head, clearly displeased with her decisions. He knew she'd give in like this, he just knew it.
Alicia stepped over to him, and hugged his waist. His arm lifted, and moved to encircle her small body. She let her head rest on his side, and her eyes fluttered closed. He was warm, but not as warm as Harry. Astrid swung her hands blindly, and started to cry again. "No, no, Azie, shhh." Steven told her gently, and rested a hand on her back. "Daddy!" She screamed.
Harry came bursting in like a bat out of hell. He sped the entire way, and ran every single signal, determined to get there. Everyone looked over at him, and Astrid cried again. "Daddy!" Harry responded quickly, lifting his daughter off the bar and holding her possessively to himself. "Daddy's here, don't fret princess." He cooed, and she instantly calmed down. Resting her head on him and relaxing. "Daddy." She mumbled happily, her smile bright and dimples showing.
Alicia jumped away from Steven, and went towards Harry. Steven hated it, but he realized they needed to talk in private so he went into the living room, and turned on the television. Harry used his free hand to push back his curls over to the side. "Baby I've missed you." He told his lover.
"We've only been apart for like four hours."
"Four hours to many Alicia, I love you and I need you."
Alicia lowered her head, trying to think rationally. She pulled her her up into messy bun so Harry could see her neck, and then she extended her wrist out to him. "Look what you did to me." She whimpered, and looked back up to him.
Astrid was first to comment on this, "Ouchie."
"Alicia c'mere." Harry beckoned her, his eyes turning glassy and cheeks flushing. Alicia obeyed and stepped up to him, gently laying a hand on his hard stomach. He sighed as soon as she touched him, but then refocused his thoughts. "I'm so sorry, please come home." He pleaded, his fingertips barely skimming the bruises on her neck. He felt like a monster, and it broke his heart. Absolutely shattered it.
"Harry, I can't."
"Why not?" Harry asked in horror, his hand on Alicia started shaking. A few tears escaped him, but he tried to hide it.
"I'm- I'm scared of you." She admitted quietly, knowing that was sure to hurt him.
"No. Please don't ever say that. Please, don't. I won't ever hurt you again, please."
"I believe you, Harry."
"So you'll come home?"
"Yes."
Harry smiled faintly, and took her hand tenderly. He pulled her to the car, without a moment to say buy to Steven. Once he got the baby buckled Iin her safety seat, he turned to his fiancee again. It was dark, and he could only see her in the light of a distant electric street lamp. He thought about touching her, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. He was afraid he'd frighten her so instead he just gave her a pleading look.
In all honesty she didn't understand Harry's look, rather she touched him because she loved him. She grabbed the front of his shirt, and fisted it tightly. Harry allowed her to pull him down to her level. He hesitantly brings his mouth to almost meet her's, waiting to see if she will pull back. When she doesn't, he delicately brushes his lips against hers, then to slowly mold together. They stay still momentarily before Harry begins to move his lips against hers, which she promptly reciprocates. Alicia brings her arms up to wrap around his torso, desiring more contact with him, her palms pressing into the small of his back to bring his body closer to hers as the pressure between them increases. "Alicia." He whispered against her lips. She moaned loudly. Prompting Harry to move on to his next course of action, which was trailing kisses from her lips across her soft jaw to the lobe of her cold ear. He took it between his teeth and she sighed, glad he remembered exactly what turned her on. "Baby girl," he said quietly, his voice deep and resonating in his chest. Alicia felt the rumble of it as she pressed her forehead to his collarbone and looked down at her fingers hurrying to unzip Harry's jeans. Harry swatted her hand away gently. "Wait till we get home..."
