The Neighbor

Alicia was lying on the couch waiting on Harry and the baby to get back from shopping and running errands.

Suddenly her napping was interrupted by loud knocks on the door. She shot up, not bothering to dust herself off, thinking it was her soon to be husband.

"Hi baby!" She said as she opened the door for him, but to her surprise it wasn't Harry. It was her neighbor that saved the other day.

She had a chance now to really look him over. He had on a crisp denim button-up left completely open with a white t-shirt underneath, and a pair of black skinny jeans on.  His dark brown hair was cut close on the sides and long on the top, he had it in a nice quiff that somehow managed to still look soft. He'd shaved off the facial hair he'd had before, and she'd been off about his eye color majorly. Had the most brilliant pair of icy blue eyes, which were brilliantly refreshing considering his skin was tan and everything else was dark. He looked like some sort of Greek god.

"Hey, uhh, I'm Joe. I just came to check on you after what happened the other day." He said as stuffed his hands in his back pockets.

"Well, hi Joe. Thank you for everything you did, but I'm okay now." Alicia told him with a smile, she looked up at him with a tender look. He was a good six foot four. If she only came all little above Harry's shoulder, she was significantly shorter than Joe.

"Are you sure? It was so wrong what he was doing to you, I don't think you should ever put handle women like that. Especially not one as delicate as you..." He trailed off, wanting her name. Subconsciously he had stepped closer to the stunning blonde.

"Alicia, I'm Alicia. T-thank you." Alicia was getting tongue tied, her cheeks flushing a pink color. She didn't back away when she noticed he stepped closer, she had absolutely no problem with it. This guy was something else.

"Well if you every need anything else, I'll protect you. How bout you give me your number, that way you can call me if anything happens." Joe offered, pulling out his phone.

She took it gently from his hands and typed in her number. When she handed it back she was graced with his breathtaking smile.

"Thank you beautiful." Joe said, as he put it back in his pocket. Surprisingly Alicia stepped in this time, mere centimeters between their chests now. 

"You are one of the most stunning girls I've ever seen. I don't know why you're with an ass like that guy." Joe said, looking down at her and finally making a move to touch her for the first time ever. His large warm hand cupped the left side of her face, his thumb stroking her smooth cheek.

Alicia thought of Harry, and thought about all the abusive things he's ever done to her. Then she thought about the beautiful ring on her finger. She shouldn't be doing this, but she was so caught up in the moment and his eyes. "I-I, did you two fight?  I wouldn't want anyone getting hurt."

"No he was to busy taking off after you." He mumbled as he leaned down closer to her.

Alicia couldn't even manage a complete intelligent sentence, his face was getting closer and closer to her.

"You'll get a text from me tonight, I want to see you tomorrow." Joe whispered, planting his lips right on her dimple. Then he pulled away, turning around and walking back to his apartment.

Alicia stood in awe, still stunned.
