Chapter 26
Going Home
Going home was the hardest part, both of them were completely and utterly awe stricken. Yet Harry seemed to pull himself together for Alicia's sake. He grabbed her hand, and bounced the baby on his hip. "Wait, you guys know we have to stay in contact with you. Alicia, you are a witness, and Harry you have some explaining to do." Officer Valencia spoke as he kept Sam tamed.
Harry nodded wit some false sense of acknowledgement. Leading his girls back out of the office, and to the sanctum of the car. After safely securing Astrid back in her carseat, Harry shut the car door and turned to Alicia. "Baby, I love you. I told you I never would've never hurt you like this." He told her with a hint of lightheartedness.
Alicia responded positively to him, her pink lips pulling into a rather large smile. "I know, I know. Just kiss me, and make it all better." She crooned to him softly. He did as he was told with more passion than needed. Lips teasing, nipping, and tugging; all the while his fingers dug deeper into her silky locks.
The need for oxygen became prevalent after a while, and Alicia was the first to give in. Harry's hand tenderly fell back to his sides as he departed from her. Striding around the car, and back to his seat. Taking the hint, his lover clambered gracelessly into her seat. Buckling up, as Harry took off. Shortly he parked the range rover, and took out the key. "Astrid, baby, do you -" Harry started, but stopped when another car pulled in behind him. Not only irritating him, but nearly blocking him in as well.
Green eyes narrowed, homing in on the driver. Steven, Harry finally decided, yet somewhere in the recesses of his mind he pondered the whereabouts of his tag-along. He looked to Alicia only to see had already exited the vehicle. Her small slight frame was now encased in one of Steven's warm hugs. Upon seeing this Harry seethed with anger, clasping his hand together and picking painfully at the scabs on his knuckles. "God dammit." He swore.
"God dahmot." Astrid tried to repeat after her daddy, who she utterly adored. "Woah! Woah, woah, no Azie. That's a bad word. Daddy is sorry." He spoke softly to her, as leaned all the way back there to unbuckle her. His gangly finger fumbled for a millisecond before he successfully undid her buckles and retrieved her from the car seat. His arms drew her to his lap, where she sat comfortably, leaning back on the steering wheel. "Azie, are you sleepy?" He inquired as she yawned, and rubbed her huge green eyes. "No, daddy."
Harry looked away when he heard a rapping at the window. It was Alicia, waving for them to get out of the car. Apparently the blonde took it upon herself to unlock the flat and invite Steven in. After no acknowledgement she turned away and did a little strut inside. Shutting the heavy door behind herself, her eyes settled on her beloved friend. "Steven, I missed you so much." She claimed once again. "I know babe, but I have some bad news." He said in a serious tone. "Steven, please tell me it doesn't have anything to do with the wedding." She pleaded, fearing he was bailing on her. "No pretty girl, Valerie and I broke up... she told she didn't need me anymore. I was wasting her time, and my own." The blonde explained with a flustered look, his eyes becoming glassy as if he were going to cry.
Softhearted Alicia hugged him again, his arms welcomed her as always. Hands finding ever prominent hipbones, rubbing lopsided figures with his thumbs. He'd be lying if he claimed to not love Alicia, but what could he do? She was even more taken than his heart was. Harry would terminate his existence if he so much as hugged her for too long. She had a baby that kept her tied down, and mind occupied. Then there was this damn wedding coming up.
He made up his mind; if he couldn't have her then he would sure throw a wrench in all of Harry's plans. He kissed the top of her head once, in hopes she'd let it slide. Lucky for him, she did, her eyes fluttering shut moments before she pulled back. "Aww babe, you were to good for her anyways." The smaller girl said, trying her best to comfort.
Then Harry bursted in like a freight train, baby in tow. He had her balanced on his left hip, large hands shielding her from the atmosphere around her. "Why are you touching MY girlfriend?" He yelled loudly. His nostrils were flared, eyes alight with rage, and face even tinged red. "She hugged me." Steven answered in turn, throwing Alicia under the bus. "No she didn't, she wouldn't touch scum like you." Harry said, lacking confidence in his own statement. "I wouldn't be to sure, Styles." Steven cackled as he walked past both adults, and Azie.
Door swung shut, car pulled out, and Harry stepped dangerously close to Alicia. "Go put the baby down for a nap, now. Then you come right back down here." He hissed under his breath as they both noticed little Astrid dozing off against Harry's broad shoulder. Alicia whimpered, then took the baby from him. Disappearing quickly up the stairs. Harry paced the floor as he tried to get him under control; yet he felt the reigns slipping out of his hands. He knew not what was about to happen, nor could he really control it. He needed his medication, and he needed it now.
