Chapter 38
You have some nerve...
"It's none of your business what happened to her, and you also have no right to even be running your mouth like that to me or her." Harry said angrily as he felt Alicia's tender hand grab at his forearm.
"It is my business, she's my friend. I can say the truth Harry. You know I'm right." Steven said with a huff, his fists clenching at his sides. Why was Harry taking up for her?!
"You must have some nerve to come into my house and say that I'm whipped. Me? I can do whatever I want, when I want, how I want! Alicia doesn't control me, but I love her and that's why I do what I do. I care about her and her feelings, that's why I act the way I do. So you're not right, you're just a prick." Harry shouted getting exceedingly angry at his friend. "And you want to know what happened to her? Huh? Because I made a stupid decision she got attacked. Steven you don't understand, but I hope you will one day that life isn't all about partying and big events. It's not about having money and making everyone know your name. Life is about finding someone you love, someone you know you're meant to be with and settling down. Living under your means and just enjoying the simplicity in life with the person you want to spend time with."
Steven stared at him for a moment, as did Alicia. He knew Harry was right, he made sense. Harry was wise, always had been, and honestly Steven admired that. He also knew Harry loved Alicia far more than she loved him. But Harry needed to learn for himself so Steven decided to just be Harry's friend, agree with him and just apologize. "Harry, mate, I'm sorry. I was out of line, and yeah..." He said as he looked at Alicia for a moment, but then back at Harry. He bid him a goodbye and left, shutting the door behind him.
Alicia was still looking Harry in awe, it made her feel so happy to hear him say all that about her. But Harry wasn't looking back at her. No, he was smiling down at Astrid. Her hands grabbing at his shirt, his arm supporting her full body. Which wasn't hard, she was a scrawny little thing after all.
"Astrid, Daddy loves you so much. You know that don't you?" He said, his free hand moving to let his thumb rub circles on her plump cheek.
"I know, and I luff you." Astrid responded let her heavy eyelids close as she rested her head against his large hand.
"I love you Harry." Alicia told him, rubbing her fingers along his forearm. She was a little shaky when she spoke, not quite sure how Harry would respond.
"I love you so much more, Alicia I just hate feeling like I'm giving giving giving while you just take. I put so much in, I've invested I all I have emotionally into us. I've given you everything, and all I see in return is sex. Sure I love having sex with you, being connected with you that way, but we're not even in the same wavelength about anything else. Alicia I want to talk to you like we used to, have conversations with you and doing silly trivial things with you."
"Harry, I'm sorry. I'll try and give you all I have. I know you probably don't believe this but I love you the same way I did back then and I always will. I know I've made some pretty big mistakes, but I'm sorry for them. I never meant to hurt you. I never want to hurt you." Alicia answered, leaning in to kiss Astrid on the cheek. "I'll put Astrid down for a nap and you can pick out a movie or anything and we'll start from there."
