Chapter 20

Freed

--- AFTER 8 MONTHS OF REHAB-----

Harry knew what day it finally was, the day he finally got out of this hell hole. He would not be confined in a white room any longer. He could go home to his loving girlfriend, who had last came to visit him three days ago. She had kept true to her word about coming and seeing him daily up until this last month. He understood though, his therapy had give him this new sense of understanding and compassion. He felt like a completely new man. One who would never cause her any harm again. Or anyone else for that matter. He knew how to tame himself now, and was even on medication to keep him calm and tempered.

He knew with her being now almost nine months pregnant now that everything was getting hard for her, he was so happy he hadn't missed the arrival of Astrid yet either. He remembered how ecstatic he had been when she brought him that little ultrasound picture of Astrid, and confirmed the baby was after all a 'she'. Harry had never been so excited before in his whole entire life, his first little baby girl. He planned to spend every moment with her and just love her up.

The nursery had also been something Alicia had brought him pictures of; it was soft heather gray with tiffany blue accents, but more black accents as well. It was very modern and chic. Something that matched his style as well. It also had the most ornate crib though, it was the prettiest piece of furniture he'd ever seen. Their was a dark wood rocking chair over in the corner and small street lamps and a fancy script with Astrid's name decorated the main wall. Then their were some neat looking décor. It was very well designed, and would last them for awhile. The main area rug had to be his favorite part though, being that signature tiffany blue and having a big black 'A' in the middle. It brought everything all together.

He was sitting in his room all changed and ready to leave when a glowing Alicia finally waddled in. "Hazza!! I love you!" She yelled as she tried to run to him. He locked his arms around her and kissed her hair multiple times. "Ali, I've missed you beautiful. Are you feeling well. How much longer to the due date?" Harry asked nervously as his large hands fell down the caress her bump gently. He'd kissed her growing belly many a time, and sang to Astrid. He'd even felt her kick a few times, all of this had him hyped up. "She's due next week. December 19th." Alicia answered with a toothy smile. Feeling quite tired herself.

She'd done everything all alone. Set up the nursery, stock up on diaper, outfits, and bottles. The whole lot. She had went to the doctor all alone every time, and kept up their apartment. While working a fulltime job. Talk about stretched to the max. She had sold her apartment early on and had moved fully into the one her and Harry now shared. She cleared out his whole 'room' and destroyed all the pictures.

Everything was ready for him to come back home.

"Good good. I'm so ready for this." Harry said, and then immediately crashed his lips down onto hers'. Glad he could now go back to doing it when and where ever he had the chance. He was so glad as well now he got to go back to sleeping with her. She had admitted a few weeks ago that she did have terrible nightmares, because He wasn't their to protect her. Harry thanked his lucky stars though nothing had came back up about the dumb murder. Drew deserved it. He shook his head, and took a deep breath. Employing his newly acquired techniques.

He went out to the nurses station with his love in tow, and signed out.

"Are you planning on quitting to stay with Astrid?" He questioned as he helped her up into his car that she had chosen to drive. Everything was so familiar and welcoming about it, she hadn't changed a thing. "No, probably going to go on a very extended maternity leave though." She answered in change. Harry was a little displeased by her answer, but accepted that it was her choice. He also realized that he would be left at home with more time to bond with Astrid, and that excited yet frightened him. He was going to try and be the best father he could be to his baby girl. "Okay, baby. everything is ready, right? I'll make sure when we get home that we have your overnight bag packed." Harry said mainly to himself to make a mental note. "Don't be so nervous, love. I want to just go home, and cuddle with you." She said softly, and picked his hand up. Pulling it to her lips to place light kisses of his soft skin. "We'll get everything settled out in time." She promised.

Harry nodded in agreement and smiled at her dimply. Showing off that boyish charm. When back at their apartment Harry first helped his rather big blonde out of the car. Then, he stopped to inspect everything to make sure everything was in its place. To his pleasure it was. She must have loved everything the way he had it, because even when they made it inside; everythingwas exactly where it was supposed to be at.
