Selena rushed back upstairs with her purse, she took out her makeup bag and went to Nick's bathroom. Where he sat on the counter patiently waiting.
His eyes were a little puffy from crying and it was noticable too. She took out her foundation and started to apply the foamy texture on the rim of eyes. She was glad their skin complexion were very similar.
"Are you seriously going to put makeup on me?" Nick asked chuckling ridiculously.
"Please, Johnny Depp where eye liner," making Nick laugh, he moved a bit messing it up, "Urgh, don't move."
He stayed still and closed his eyes while she applied the foundation. When she finished he looked into the mirror, notified by the glow in his face.
"Wow, why don't you become an artist?" Nick joked as he studied his facial difference.
Selena laughed as she packed away her make up, "Because I have a passion for dancing more than make up."
"Are you ever going to tell me that story? I told you something very deep," Nick said, as he turned away from the mirror and refocused on Selena.
"I'll tell you when-" Before she finished Nick mocked her line already.
"When I know I can trust you," he mocked her, making her give a glare at him.
She scoffed as she left him in trailing behind her as she put her makeup bag away in her purse. She took a seat on his bed again while he relaxed leaning back on his pillows next to her.
"Anyways, what were you and my mother fonding about?" Nick asked, changing the subject.
"Nothing, casual talk. She taught me a lot about plants, then we pretty much hitted off from there. Dude your mom is like a great lady, for the first time I told someone's mother I was a dancer at the club, they didn't criticise me," she laughed.
Making Nick laugh too.
"Well I mean, at first she was like, 'oh'," making a low beat on the 'oh', "But then afterwards I explained it to her and she was interested and asked on how I became your roommate and all."
"And what did you say?" Nick asked obscured.
She just shrugged playing with his pillow, "The truth."
Nick nearly jumped off his bed, "You told her everything, like your story?"
"No," Selena laughed at Nick's jealousy that she might've told his mom before him, "I just told her I met you in Newport and Audrey told me that I can bunk with you while I'm looking for my friend."
"Nice save," Nick smirked as he fell back down onto his bed relaxed.
"What were you scared I was going to make up a story and tell her I was your girlfriend," Selena teased, Nick huffed and rolled his eyes falling back again.
"You wish, Gomez." He scoffed.
"Way to remember my last name," she said, falling down on his stomach, making Nick squint a little.
"You have a heavy head for a lady." Nick commened with a chuckle, he earned a slap from Selena as her hand flew to his chest.
They continued to joke around, the door came flying open. Making both Selena and Nick's head shootup. And Joe stood there a little surprised, then he had his goofy smile again.
"Just wanna say lunch is ready," Joe said in a singing tune, he then closed the door.
Selena and Nick exchanged strange glances and laughed. They both got up and went downstairs to everyone else. They sat by the deck and enjoyed the green view. The table longer here, but Mr. Jonas still took the end of table like all masters and kings do.
He eyed Selena carefully, as she walked in with Nick. This time Selena sat next to Mrs. Jonas, the seating was rearranged and Joe sat next to Danielle. Kevin was on the otherside, closer to their father. Nick sat alongside Selena and across from Joe, he wanted to be as far from his father as he can.
Especially for what just happened not too long ago.
--
Selena wasn't used to this whole praying before you eat thing, but looks like the Jonas family was very religious. Everyone had their eyes closed and fingers laced together as they said their meal prayers.
When everyone said, Amen Selena was very positive she was ready to dig in.
She was a bit surprised at Mr. Jonas when he took forward and started a conversation with her. He asked her to pass the ketchup.
"So Selena, what's your occupation?" He was arrogant the way he asked, but he tried to be friendly, he wanted to know if this was another girlfriend like Samantha or Bethany and the list that goes on, of Nick's past girlfriends.
"I'm a dancer," Selena answered, trying to sound polite.
"Really what type do you do?" Danielle asked, she was interested, not like about to criticise her in any way.
"I do a lot, like ball, ballet, hip hop..." Selena smiled at her, she liked Danielle. Her friendliness made Selena feel welcomed.
"And how much do you make?" their father asked causally, as he cut into the steak.
"Dad!" Nick looked at him with widen eyes, he couldn't believe him. Well he can, but it was a warning.
"No, don't worry," Selena assured Nick and turned back to Mr. Jonas, "It varies, but about $600 to $800 for each show."
His father's brow crooks, "Show?" He questioned curious.
"Uhm, yes, I'm not a stripper or anything, but I dance at the bar/club in downtown," Selena answered, everyone at the table was just silent.
The three, Kevin, Joe and Daniele were just a little taken back. While Nick and Mrs. Jonas were already aware of it, Mr. Jonas was just as shock.
Selena saw how everyone was just so shocked, "You guys should come check it out, its at called Dome in West, it's nothing dirty I promise."
"Dome in West? Is the manager there Hannah Shay Greg?" Mr. Jonas was astonished.
"Yes, do you know her?" Selena asked, a little creeped out. She didn't actually want Nick's family to visit the club to see her dance.
"Well I mean," she saw Mr. Jonas chuckle the first time, it brough a relief to everyone at the table. Mr. Jonas turns to his wife with a smile, "Denise, do you remember Hannah from high school?"
His wife took a while to sink in the thought then she beamed, "Oh yes, wasn't she that girl that got a scholarship to Duke for her dancing skills?"
"That is so amazing, Selena, would you mind bringing us to meet her?" Mr. Jonas asked, Selena turned to Nick helplessly, not knowing how to answer. Nick was just as shock.
She turned back to Mr. Jonas with a smile, "Of course. I have a number tomorrow night, I don't mind, if Nick is alright with it, I really don't mind."
Everyone by the table turned to look at Nick.
"Uhm, Y-yea sure," he stutters, he picks up his water taking giant gulps.
Mrs. Jonas was happy seeing how Mr. Jonas interested for once. But then she could sense there was something behind Mr. Jonas's eagerness, sides meeting a old friend.
While their parents were preparing for the guest to arrive, everyone else decides to head home. Joe didn't want to stay to see any of his father's business partners, it was one reason he didn't join the Jonas Commerce. And certaintly Kevin and Nick already had to see these people everyday, it was only his father that like entertaining these people. So everyone left and hoped to meet tomorrow at the club.
