The house had all curtains closed almost, it wasn't entirely a mess. Although there was a major odour of alcohol when you first step in and there were a few empty bottles of beer as we near the kitchen. There were trails of pizza boxes that were probably roasting mold pizza.

Denise walked in, in utter disgust.

"Paul? Where are you?" She calls out, no reply.

"Dad?" Nick asks, holding onto Denise from the other side, "Dad where are you?"

Nick wandered off and spread some curtains, he even had to pop open the windows to allow the fresh air to air the house. Gross.

We went upstairs and found Mr. Jonas lied down dead drunk on their bed. Wasted, he was wasted. The odour was worst here, sweat, liquor, and probably dirty laundry.

I let go of Denise and went to opent he window.

"Nicholas? Son, you came to see me," Mr. Jonas said amazed, and tried to stand up. But he stumbled a bit, his eyes focuses on Denise. "Sweet heart, my one and only love."

"Could you take a shower? Please?" Denise said, sounding disgusted and turns away, tears goggling by the rim of her eyes.

"Anything for you..." Mr. Jonas stumbles his way into the washroom. We were relieved when we heard the shower turn on.

Denise walked out of her what was once her bedroom that was now a total disaster. We settled down what seem to be their living room, still tidy, probably not clean.

Nick and I cleaned up some of the beer bottles we found on the way in, we settled down Denise so we could continue to clean. The water stopped running, and we could hear Mr. Jonas's footsteps coming down the stairs.

I took out the pizza boxes to recycling before meeting in the room with Denise and Paul and Nick. It was  a bit more breezy where they lived it, I quickly went back in after. Denise and Paul were both sitting now, so was Nick, they were already in a serious talk I can here.

"I don't want to end our 30 years of marriage," Denise said, her eyes were teary again and the tears were just flowing within her the rim of her eyes, "I can't forgive you right away, I--"

Before she continues, Paul raises his hand for her to stop, "I know, I get it. Sweet heart, please come home though. I'm a mess without you."

"I can't, I don't trust you enough nor to myself," Denise wipes away the tears from her eyes, "If you go back to work and prove yourself clean, then I'll come back."

"O-Okay! I'll do as you say," Paul nods assuring her almost.

Nick and I just exchanged glances, that was fast, I thought.

After lunch with Paul we headed back to Kevin's to drop off Denise. Coincidentially, at the same time Kevin just drove in with Danielle. We were going to go in with them and sit for a while, but before we even got into their place, Nick's phone started to buzz, he looked down to read his message.

"Actually guys, I think Selena and I will have to go," Nick started, causing me to turn around and everyone's eyes on him, "Samantha needs me to go to her house to fix the faucet."

I just stared at him blank for a moment.

"She couldn't call the handy man?" Kevin inquired with an annoyed attitude.

Nick just glares at him, probably because of the pregnancy issue, "Selena are you coming?" he then turns to me, softened with his eyes now.

"No," I shook my head, "I think I'll stay, I'll see you later."
