The atmosphere seem to go in slow-mo for Nick. Selena laughed looking at Nick's stocked up expression, he looked speechless but he was just looking afar distance. She follows his eye over to the breathtaking beauty a distance away.
Samantha stood there linked in arms with the prince charming she was with two months ago. She giggles as he whispered sweet talks into her ear, her eyes meets Nick and walks over with her date.
"Hi Nick," Samantha greets him with a flirty smile, so noticable. But Conner, her date was unaware of it, he looked around smiling at other guests. "Great party."
"Thanks you," Nick finally said, with a small smile.
"Nice see you again, Nick," Conner smiled at him with that charming smile of his, he focused on Selena, "This must be your date, she's beautiful."
Making Selena blush she extends her hand, "Thank you, not so bad yourself, Selena."
Samantha just glares at her.
"Ah... I remember now, we saw you guys at the golf club last time," Conner said amazed, wrapping his arm around Samantha's waist.
Nick's cool eyes darts at his gesture, giving all hints he was jealous.
"We should get together sometime," Samantha states peering over at Nick who met eyes with her, "I'd love to catch up."
"Of course," Nick gives a smug smile. Selena watched them exchanging hungry gazes at each other, some reason she felt a knot in stomach at it and she wanted to run away. But it was also causing a tension, maybe it was just her, because Conner didn't notice crap. Clueless as ever.
"Well if you might, excuse us," Conner suddenly says, as she pulled Samantha away.
Selena started walking away as well, leaving Nick dumbfound standing there. He stood there watching his former girlfriend walk away.
"She's a stunner," Nick caugh himself reading his thought aloud. Just then he turned to see Selena gone, he grunted and went to search for her again. He found her by the bar again fetching a cup of water.
"Why'd you walk away?" Nick asked, seeating on a booth next to her.
Selena shrugged, "I think I'm going to head home, I'm feeling a bit tired."
She found herself feeling actually sick, but more like mentally sick rather than a cold. This was her chance to avoid Nick talking about Samantha and she hated Samantha the minute she met her. She was a bitch like how she treated Nick.
His eyes showed concern as he helped her off the booth, "Are you alright? Here let me get my car."
"No it's fine, I think I just had too much of a drink," Selena said, as she stumbles on her heels. Nick caught her just before she fell.
"C'mon," Nick helped her out to the lobby where he plopped her onto the lobby cushioned chairs. He went out to get his car while Selena sat inside waiting. His car pulled out quickly, he went to get her and helped her into the car.
Selena and Nick stayed quiet through the whole car ride. He was excited to tell her how he felt when seeing Samantha, but noting how tired she looked, he figured that he'll tell her tomorrow.
Getting home, they said their good nights and went to their bedrooms. They were both tired, now that they arrived home. Selena just wanted to sleep away the strange feeling she was having, while Nick was just happy to see Samantha again.
