I hadn't had the time think of Nick once I got home. Although many pictures of him in the flat was a constant reminder to myself. I hopped into the shower and tried by best to choose an outfit that best suits the occasion.

I got into one of my classic outifts, but to make a little more special I slipped on a grey cardigan with black leather sleeves and a royal blue tee to match with my red and blue plaid shorts. Then my favorite, my brown pair of Steve Madden combat boots.

It was pretty breezy today, I figured this will work. I checked the time again, and panicked when I realized the café was a bit of a hassle in getting there. I got on the next cab I saw and hurried to the café.

The street was lousy with many pedestrians: families, people on dates, elderlies and singles strolling the nice sunny day on this street that mimicked an old London street. All the shops and restaurants were vintage shocked, even the lamp posts were lit by candles rather than wires.

I went in to the coffee shop, filled with many people of all kind sitting there restlessly waiting to be served. It was even vintage inside, wooden chairs, wooden round tables and shelves with books for customers to read. Love it.

I searched through the trend of people and searched for my sister.

I picked up my phone from my small cross over, and dialed her number. Immediately I heard the same lousy crowd I am standing in.

"Hey Demi," I greeted, my heart was beating nervous and excitedly. "I'm here, are you here?"

"Yes, I'm actually sitting at the window..." Demi's voice drifts off as I can tell her eyes were wondering around the room in search of me.

I turn around to the window side and see a girl with long black wavy hair, she was wearing a beige cardigan over a red and blue plaid shirt and a tank top under that, the two layers were over the tank top were slouched on one shoulder and a pair of black shorts. She had one leg bent on the table showing over her long tanned legs and her shiny gold shoes. Her hair was down with a grey felt street style hat.

I walked over to her, she looked like she was writing music while waiting for me. I stood in front a little awestruck.

"Demi?" I asked the girl, long black hair and almond shape brown eyes.

The girl looked up at me, "Selena!"

We were both hugging each other now, and in tears of joy. Both of us were happy and excited to catch up, we sat down after causing a scene, having many eyes on us.

"I'm shaking so much," I confessed, "I'm just so happy to finally see you again."

"Me too," Demi smiles, gathering her papers, "So where have you been living? What's your job now? Are you in school?"

I laugh at the questions she asked so urgently, "Well I lived with this old lady I met in Newport, California. Then after a while I heard you were in New York, so I came back, then I met her grandson again and he offered me a place to stay. I work at a club type of place, I'm a dancer. But it's more like performance rather than something dirty."

"That scared me for a while," Demi laughs, taking a sip of her coffee, "Is he cute?"

She makes a goofy smile causing me to giggle, "He's cute, has a girl friend. But I think I'm starting to like him..."

"Well until he's married, he's not taken," Demi confess so calmly making me shake my head and laugh.

"As much as I dislike her prescence, I can't," I really didn't want to go further into the topic, I changed it quickly, "How about you?"

"I'm living with my boyfriend right now, we're both work in studios, he's photography and I'm into music," She gushes, slightly blushing, "We're happy, I haven't met his parents yet, but there's been a lot going on at home for him right now."

The rest of the afternoon was just spent with Demi, catching up on our lives without each other. Then talking about our careers, nothings felt better than having my sister by my side. We walked around New York after we were practically kicked out of the coffee shop.

She told me her adventures in Africa when she went to volunteer one year, and her trip to L.A. to meet a music producer once and how she met her boyfriend. She told me to visit her studio when I have time before we split. She had to go back to the studio meet her client.

Instead I took a stroll around the city before I felt my stomach crumble and going home.Yes, I learnt to consider Nick's flat, home.

When I opened the door to the flat, it was very quiet, I merely suspected no one to be home. Just until I Nick popped out from behind the door with a bouquet of roses. If I didn't have a crush on him, I wouldn't blush seeing the flowers.

But of course...

Or even getting the wrong idea of course...

"I'm sorry Selena, I shouldn't have walked out last night," Nick started, hiding behind the pot of flowers, "I was just so worried and scared Samantha would walk out on me again.."

"Nick I--" I started, but he cuts me off before I got to my next word.

"Wait, last thing, I want to say is the reason I was so concerned about her and all it's because..." he lowered the flowers from his face for a while looking hesitant.

"Nick what is it?" I urged him, his expression just worries me more.

"Samantha she's pregnant," Nick finally blurts out.

Now I sort of wish he wouldn't have told me. My heart sank, and I feel my airways closing in on me. My expression remained blank, scaring Nick a little.

"Wow," I blinked, walking away from him, "Does your parents know?"

He followed behind with the flowers in his hands still, "Of course not, they can't. Not until my parents filed the divorce or at least settle their marriage."

"H-How far along is she?" I stuttered, the tears were rinsing along my eyelids. He tried so hard to look at me, it was almost hard for me to hide it.

"Four weeks," he tells me, "I'm probably not going to be at home as often, because I'll be taking care of her so--"

"Don't worry," I interrupted him, "Take your time, you'll need to be with her at that time."

"I just wanted to assure you'll be fine with it," Nick says, unsure.

"Of course, I'm not anyone to refuse you taking responsibility," I said, finally turning around and patted his shoulder. I forced the best smile I can, "you'll be a great father."

"Thanks Sel," he said, apparenly he was a bit teary too.

"Where's Denise?" I ask, jumping off topic.

He can probably tell I was trying to avoid the topic as much as possible, I wasn't eager to find out more of this pregnancy. I just wanted to be back in my room and cry out my eyes until I drift off to sleep.

"Kevin and Danielle took her to their place since they have two spare rooms," Nick answers, "Selena..."

"I'm tired, I'm going to take a shower before bed," I said, walked away from the couch, passing the dining area where it was lit with candles, our favorite junk food and a stem of red rose in a vase.

The table was neatly ensembled with the plating and the red wine that was ready to be served. I wiped off the tears and closed the door on my way into my room. As soon as I was inside, blocked away from reality, I slipped into bed with a pool of tears and utter pain in my heart.
