Nick & I were left in the room with his parent. His father didn't look a single bit bothered by Kevin, instead he took his seat back next to his wife.

Nick pulled me aside, "I'm going to go out to check on Kevin, could you stay in here just in case of anything? I don't want to terrify my mom when she wakes up."

"Don't worry," I nodded, glancing back at Paul, who didn't seem to have heard us. He stared at Denise sleep as he held her hand.

Nick slipped out of the room quickly and quietly. I took a seat next to Paul.

"Don't worry, she'll wake up soon," I comforted him.

Without even looking he said, "You're not mad at me?"

That's right, I've never really considered.

"It's alright, I know it was wrong and I shouldn't have, I don't have any feelings towards Mavis. It was just an affair for me." He explains, voice hollow and sadden.

"Mr. Jonas, it's not my place to judge you. But you should tell this to Mrs. Jonas," I hestitated before continuing, "Chances don't come easy, don't loose this one when she gives it to you."

Paul just nodded before Nick re-enters the room with his brothers and Danielle.

Kevin was the last to come in, looking almost shameful. He followed closely behind from Danielle.

"Dad, the doctor's said that mom just got into a small concussion, she will probably be waking up anytime from today to tomorrow," Joe announces, "I could stay over night to wait for mom."

"It's better if I stay," his dad shrugged it off.

Kevin looked as if he was about to say something until Danielle held him back.

"Selena & I can go home and maybe grab some food and garments for mom," Nick said, looking over at me for approval.

I nodded & followed his lead. Everyone started muffling a goodbye and Joe walked over to close the door for us.

We walked through the hollow hallways with nurses on patrol and family members brewing in tears of their lost, and even some doctors rushing down the halls for urgent help.

The car ride back was fast, but also very quiet. Almost a scary silence, Nick seemed to be super calm about the situation, but somehow I feel like Nick is ready to break down anytime.

That was just until I spoke too soon. We got into his flat and that was when Nick turned to me, and dropped his head to my shoulder.

I felt the salty fluid soak in to my shoulder.

Every drop gave me a sense of pain, hurt, and maybe in anger.
