This is my second one-shot that I wrote and it's just a bit of child-Bucky fun, hope you enjoy it :)

1929- (Bucky would be 12)

"Quick!" you ushered Bucky along, your team needed to hide your flag and you thought of the perfect place. Outside the window on the second floor of  the block of flats. The only issue was getting it there.

"Bucky we only have a minute!" your friend (h/n) shouted from beside you, gazing up at Bucky above. The only reason he was up there and not one of you was because, well, you were both scared of heights. Bucky insisted he wasn't. But it was painfully clear he was.

"Bucky if you don't wanna we can hide it somewhere else! We have time!" you shouted up to your friend, worried that he would fall.

"Just a little further..." Bucky groaned, his right arm stretched with the red flag enclosed. I saw his left hand slip, panic flashed through his eyes.

I gasped. I couldn't just watch him fall. He needed help. Without any further thought I rushed into the flats, my legs propelling me up two flights of stairs.

"Oi!" a woman screamed as I ran into her washing. "Sorry!" I squealed back.

"Bucky!" I yelled, he was hanging comically out the window, if he wasn't in danger I would have laughed. But he was about to slip.

"Don't mind me, I'm just hanging around." Bucky whimpered. Typical Barnes, even in a life-threatening situation he couldn't resist a good pun.

My hands grasped around his left leg, trying to pull him back inside, but I wasn't strong enough.

"Work with me Bucky!" we needed to work together. "What about the flag (y/n)?" Bucky the game isn't as important as your life you thought, but what came out was "Bucky the game is more important than your life"

Crap.

"No, what I meant was-" But Bucky couldn't stop laughing, his entire body shook violently, clearly amused by my stupidity.

"Bucky, stop, we need to-" but I was cut off again by Bucky's infectious laughter, it took all my strength to remain focused on the situation at hand.

I thought about Bucky falling, and that was enough for me to pull him in.

"Ow!" Bucky stopped laughing momentarily as he landed butt first on the cold, hard floor I was standing on. But he quickly resumed.

"Ha ha ha- you thought- ha ha ha- the game is more important than your life- ha ha huuuuuuhhh... oh (y/n) you crack me up!"

"A simple thanks will do, ya know, for saving your ever-so-precious life and all?" I tried to act all heroic, like I was a superhero and I had just saved a damsel in distress.

"What? My life that isn't as precious as a game of capture the flag?" Bucky smirked as he dusted himself off and gazed at his hand.

"Speaking of which, where did our flag go?" We both ran to the window, only to find Steve below with (h/n). Steve was waving our flag proudly in his right hand.

"Talk about an easy game!" he shouted from below "Could ya'll make it harder next time?" Steve and (h/n) burst out in a fit of giggles.

I turned to face Bucky, glad that he didn't get hurt, ya know, apart from his butt.

"Ok, how about a rematch, right here, right now!" Bucky smiled, eager to beat his best friend.

"Hold your horses, just let me gather the others!" and with that Steve and (h/n) rushed off.

"So..." what do I say to him?

"Thanks (y/n) for, umm, saving my life and all" and before I knew what exactly was happening Bucky Barnes planted a kiss on my cheek.

"No problem..." I mumbled, unsure of how to act. I'd never been kissed before, I guess it wasn't on the lips but it still counts, right?

"Now, what'cha say about another game?" I nodded my head in answer to his question.

"And this time, I get to choose where we hide the flag!" and with that me and Bucky Barnes walked down two flights of stairs and onto the Brooklyn streets, feeling like we were unstoppable.
