You pat yourself down, checking every pocket on every item of clothing. Where did you leave your wallet? You calm yourself down by slowing your breathing and trying to retrace your thoughts by mumbling to yourself out loud. You must have looked like a right sight.

You decide that it was probably at the coffee shop you visited, the last shop you remember having it. Sighing you turn and take a long and much unwanted detour back to the shop, praying that it would still be open this late. You check the time on your phone, 7:49. You kept your fingers crossed as you approached the shop but your heart dropped when the 'Sorry we're closed' sign was displayed and the lights were off. Peering in through the glass you could just make out the shape of your wallet on the table you sat at.

Although you knew it was futile you began to knock on the glass door and call for someone inside who just wasn't there.

"Hello? HELLO! Please, I need my wallet! I- Uhhh what's the point?" with your back against the door you slide down onto the cold and uncomfortable pavement below. Your wallet had all your cash, your ID and most importantly your bus pass. Without that you couldn't get back to your apartment, which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't 5 miles away and it wasn't starting to get dark.

A thought popped into your mind, you still have your phone (y/n) why don't you just phone one of your friends and they can- You sigh when you remember (b/f/n) was out of town for a business meeting and all your other friends lived miles and miles away, too far for them to come and get you.

You were well and truly stuck. You rest your head on your knees in defeat, after a long and tiring day you just wanted to be curled up on your sofa with a bowl of (f/i/c) with (f/f) and-

"Uhhh are you ok?" a man speaks and by his proximity you soon realise he was addressing you, so you lift your head up high to meet his eyes. You were stunned by his appearance, he was disheveled but at the same time handsome and he was messy but at the same time charming.

"I don't think so." you take your time with every word, still transfixed by this strange man who seemed genuinely concerned about your well being.

"I heard you banging on that door saying something about your wallet?" to your complete surprise the stranger sits down on your right, making you feel much less alone.

"Yeah, um, a bit embarrassing really but I stupidly left it in there so now I have no way to get home." you turn to see the man grinning and you weren't any expert at analysing grins but you could tell that this was a man that didn't smile often. This was a man which had been through a lot.

"I've heard stupider." there was something about the way he spoke that made you feel at ease, but simultaneously on edge. He might be being nice but how did you know he wasn't going to try and hurt you? As he dug his gloved hand into his pocket you honestly expected the worst, a gun? Drugs? Was this man gonna sell you drugs?!

"Here, I think you need it more than I do." you are so relieved when a crumpled $10 bill is held out in front of you, ready for you to take.

"Thank you so much, but I really couldn't. You're just a stranger after all and heck, I don't even know your name!"

"You need this money for the bus, so please take it. It'll make me happy knowing you got home safe and uhh my name's Bucky." while he spoke you nervously took the note and gripped it tightly in your hand, scared that it might somehow disappear or blow away. You liked the name Bucky, you liked how you could now call him by his name. He was somehow more real now.
