Hi, it's me. Ya boi. I've just received a lovely request for a one shot from @Unchymel (set during TWS but Bucky is captured and is held in SHIELD). I hope you enjoy it before Endgame wrecks us all xx

"Get off me!"

"Make me." wrong answer. You were in the perfect position to knee the man in the stomach, temporarily incapacitating him. Then you could grab his arm, pin it behind his back, roll over and hold him down.

"You can't beat me that easily." despite his repeated attempts to escape your grasp, it was futile.

With a loud sigh he gives in "Fine. You win this round." with that confirmation you release him and excitedly run over to the scoreboard.

"And you know what that means?!  You're buying me lunch!" you fist bump the air as your friend rolls his eyes and takes a long gulp from his water. "I think I fancy something from that restaurant that just opened a few blocks away. It's got good reviews."

"They better have, have you seen their prices? How about we go to that cafe instead?" you grab your towel and wipe your forehead.

"They went out of business months ago, and besides you're paying so I don't really care." you stick out your tongue and begin to saunter away but you don't get far before an ear-piercing siren splits through the air. You had trained for this moment, yet your mind and your body failed you. It can't be happening now, how had the Winter Soldier escaped?

"(y/n)?!" a firm hand on your shoulder causes you to break from your trance "It's ok. We've trained for this. You take your squad to the east and we'll take the west of the compound." of course he always kept his cool, even in these types of situations.

"See you on the other side." you grab your pistol and walkie talkie from your bag and run out of the gym, organizing a meetup point for your group as you go. Shield's nurses, office staff and engineers were all running in the opposite direction to you, which hopefully meant you were getting closer to the man we captured on the bridge.

You kick down a door to find a mouse-like secretary bundled behind a cabinet. You gesture towards the corridor "It's better if you make a run for it, just follow the mass of screaming people.". Of course you were supposed to use more technical language but you found being slightly light-hearted helped in these situations.

The corridors gradually became more eerie as you hadn't seen another person for what felt like hours and your brain had drowned out that deafening alarm. To top it all off there had been no sightings of the Winter Soldier from you, or the rest of your team, and you were beginning to ache from your vigorous training session.

Just when you felt like all hope was lost you heard a thrashing noise accompanied by a series of muffled grunts. With your back pressed up against the wall you peer around the corner, holding your pistol tightly.

You had expected to see the soldier fighting his way out of the compound with a pile of casualties around him but instead you're shocked to find him crawling along the floor in a hospital gown. Blood was smeared on all surfaces, but there was no-one else in sight. The blood was his. You almost felt paralyzed, staring at this powerful super-soldier who was struggling to merely move made you reevaluate everything.

"If the soldier escapes your orders are to re-capture him my any means necessary. He is a danger to anyone and everyone, you are authorized to shoot to kill."  your orders ring through your head; memories of your training sessions flash before your eyes.

Your mind had you in a haze, you were so close to pulling the trigger but the soldier started whimpering. Was he crying? You look down at your gun, then back up at the man you were supposed to fight.
