Chapter 12: I look like one of the three stooges

It's been a few days since the events that took place in the rusty old abandoned tool shed. I recovered quickly in the infirmary. However, due to my injuries, I have been relieved of any work for the week. Doctors orders, not mine. I'm sure Barbie was not happy about this.
For my lazy self, I was happy about this as growing up in a rich family meant I was spared from doing any chores or cooking. To me, there were people that were paid to do those things.
Instead of any duty work, I've been catching up on the school curriculum. I have decided to finally use the schooling facilities here and attend a few classes.
I had always been a top student so I was not too behind on my curriculum. I topped most of my classes and when I failed to do so, I was branded a disappointment by my parents.
I attended a personal development and health class. We were learning about synovial joints. Great my favourite (hint sarcasm).
I entered the run down classroom and noticed a face who I never imagined would set foot in a class room.
"You and learning? Somehow those two things don't fit together" I whispered as I took a seat next to Wolfe.
"I see you're feeling better" He replied as he kept his eyes glued to the board.
Maybe he is more studious than I thought.
As we were learning about synovial joints, my mind started to zone out and instead entered the world of day dreaming.
Today, I decided to day dream about the person next to me. I cannot deny that I was extremely attracted to him.
"Earth to Jaedyn" I heard Wolfe whisper in my ear.
His raspy voice and the hot air that I felt sent shivers down my body.
                              "W-what did I miss?" I stuttered out.
                              He chuckled in response.
"Nothing, I just wanted to ruin your day dream" he smirked.
I rolled my eyes and decided to listen to the teacher.
"So who can tell me about the ligaments located in the infamous knee joint?".
                              I groaned internally.
                              --
After what seemed like an extra-long PDHPE class it finally ended and I was able to leave the hell hole I like to brand education.
As I walked out I waited on the side for Wolfe.
"So.. I did not know you were one to study?" I asked him as we walked side by side.
"There's a lot you don't know about me." Wolfe replied with a huff.
Before I could reply, the bell rang signalling lunch.
                              "Finally" I mumbled to myself.
"See you after." Wolfe said as he walked towards the boys toilets.
As I walked down an empty corridor, I heard footsteps behind me. I quickly turned around and to my dismay, nobody was behind me.
I shrugged off my eerie thoughts and kept walking.
I then heard the footsteps again, and this time I heard more than one.
I don't know why I felt a spark of fear. I mean there are hundreds of people in this prison, a person walking down a corridor shouldn't be frightening. They are probably just heading to lunch like me.
But as the footsteps grew louder and quicker, I decided to finally turn around.
I gasped at the sight before me.
                              The Triple X girls.
I knew my fear wasn't stupid. I had a feeling bad company would be present.
"Jaedyn Edwards, we meet again. Only this time you are alone/" Kylie spat out.
"Can we just go to lunch. I'm sure we are all starving." I tried to reason.
"Good try jingle bells. But today you can get a taste of what ruining your life may be like." She replied.
She then signalled to Amanda, one of the larger girls.
I gulped and before I knew it, Amanda launched at me before punching me straight in the jaw.
The power of her punch left me on the floor, crying out in pain. I then tasted a metallic taste in my mouth which signalled blood. I must have chipped a tooth.
Before I could do anything, Kylie spoke again.
"We heard about the storm accident. You must be in a lot of pain, oh poor little Jingle Bells." She sneered.
This signalled Amanda to punch me straight into my abdominal area where I had been injured.
A sharp pain surged through my body which caused my cries to become louder.
I was weak, weak in every sense and I'd never felt this much pain in my life.
"I think that's all for today. I hope you enjoyed the teaser." Kylie finished, before turning around and stalking off with the rest of the Triple X girls.
They left me on the floor in immense pain. With blood soaring out of my mouth and my fresh stitches perforated.
I decided to suck up all the pain and replace it with anger. This increased my adrenaline which allowed me to find safety in the bathrooms.
To my fortune, the bathrooms were only a few corridors away and I managed to get only a few weird stares. I mean I was limping and blood was spilling out of my mouth.
But I guess it was a regular thing around here as no one really stopped to help me.
Once I reached the bathrooms, I almost screamed in horror when I saw my reflection.
three of my bottom teeth were missing, and it was all due to one punch.
                              I looked horrible.
I quickly washed my mouth out and stuffed tissue paper to absorb the blood.
                              I was screwed.
I unzipped my prison suit and pulled the shirt that I wore underneath to reveal a few stitches that had opened. There wasn't much blood so I quickly cleaned the area and wrapped my shirt tightly around the wound.
I then returned to the place I had been beaten up in. There was still immense pain when I moved but I could deal with it.
I then found my three teeth on the floor and decided to pick them up and quickly proceed to the doctor's room. Thank god that I knew first aid because it's a known fact that broken teeth can be placed back in the gums if done quick enough.
As I entered the infirmary I yelled out for help.
Several nurses came to my aid and asked me what's wrong.
I told them that I had hit my jaw on a pole as I wasn't looking where I was going and this caused me to lose my teeth.
I knew they didn't believe my story but they brushed their doubts off and led me to the centre's doctor as there was no dentist on site.
As I walked in, the doctor was surprised to see me for a second time this week.
She inspected my mouth and after a few minutes,  I heard her sigh.
"What is it?" I asked with worry.
"I'm afraid I cannot put your teeth back in. Whatever you did to your jaw, it must have been strong as it tore out some gum and the connective fibres which are needed to reconnect your teeth. There's nothing I can do but schedule you in for a dentist appointment in which your teeth can be replaced by a fixed bridge, but for the time being, your toothless" she explained.
For the second time today, I groaned internally.
