Chapter Three

Kayla

"Welcome! It's so nice to have new students!" Mrs. Potts told us. She was a little too cheery about it. I'm guessing she's a very perky person. "Why don't you tell the students your names?"

I did a little wave to all of the students staring at me. Gosh I hate attention. "Hi, I'm Kayla."

"I'm Kyle," He said flatly. Kyle has always hated school, and like me, he wasn't a morning person.

Mrs. Potts gave Kyle his seat in the front row. I had to hold in a laugh when she said it. He was not a front row kind of student, at all. "Kayla, you can sit back there," She said pointing in the far corner of the room, "Next to Jake."

As I made my way over to my seat I was grinning evilly. Jake's going to be broken by the end of the day.

When I sat down Jake greeted me and said, "Mrs. Potts is deaf. Everyone always talks during this class."

"Looks like I have someone to talk to then." My grin was getting bigger by the second. "Are you good at chemistry?"

Jake nodded, "Best grades in the class."

"Good, that means you can help me." Jake was laughing at my response before asking, "Can I see your schedule?"

I handed him my schedule and he glanced at it then he gave it back. "So do we have any classes together?" I asked.

"Just all of them." He shrugged.

I gasped, "No way!"

"Way!" Jake replied in a girly voice which caused me to laugh. It turns out I laughed a little too loud.

"Kayla! Jake! This is chemistry not social hour. I suggest you pay attention." Mrs. Potts said which caused Kyle to laugh. He also made a heart with his hands and mouthed the word "lovers." Kyle got the middle finger after that.

After I murmured a sorry, I sent Kyle an extra glare. My brother is such a prick. Usually, I listen to teachers and that's just what I did. I picked up my pencil and began jotting down notes.

There was a poking on my left arm that wouldn't stop. I turned to see Jake poking me with his pencil. "Do you want to, oh I don't know, stop!" I whispered harshly.

"No, not really." He said as he continued to poke my arm. That's when I took the pencil and broke it in half.

"Hey! That was my only pencil!" He complained.

I dropped the two halves on the floor, "Oops! Better go get a new one."

After that he ignored me the rest of class, except for an occasional glare. Which also gave me more time with my plan to break Jake.

Hey that rhymes!

It was 12:30 and my plan worked. Jake and I were making out in the janitors closet.

Just kidding it was only 11:30 in the morning.

Oh and we weren't making out either, that's not my plan. We were actually on our way to lunch right now.

"Do you actually want to eat in the cafeteria?" Jake asked as we walked down the hallway. I made sure I was close enough to him so that our arms would brush against each others.

I gave him a confused look, "Where else would we eat lunch?"

"Come on," He grabbed my hand and started pulling me.

I liked the way his hand felt. It was warm and soft and it felt like it fit in mine. If that makes any sense.

"Where are we going?"
