--------------------Daniel pulled his car to a stop at the curb, frowning a little as he double check the address. He climbed from the car, grabbed the bottle of wine and pie he'd offered to bring and started up the steps of the blue town home with white trim and all. He hesitated as he reached out to knock, wondering if the place was even right. Though he'd probably have to have been stupid to get it wrong after double checking. Or more like triple checking. Just as he finally got the courage to finally knock the door was opened and Megan smiled at him as she grabbed his raised wrist and pulled him inside. "I was wondering if you were going to knock. Finally decided to put you out of your misery and take the initiative to get you."
Daniel blinked at her before letting out a nervous laugh. "I was about to." he held out the bottle and pie. Megan's smile grew as she reached out to take them from him and moved toward the kitchen at the back of the town home. Daniel looked around a moment, slowly making his way down the hall after her until he found Megan already pouring wine for them. She turned and held out a glass, lifting her own for a small sip. "It smells good in here." he said as he took the offering.
"Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli and some baguette bread with cooked tomato and Parmesan. " Daniel raised a brow at her. "Hey! It's good. You just cook it in the oven a little and it makes for a great appetizer."
"Okay. And I wasn't complaining. It sounded good. I'm just a little surprised you went all out is all."
"Eh. Not really. But I figured I'd at least do something good."
"I don't get why you'd rather cook instead of go out somewhere like I offered."
"You did too."
"True." he said with a small chuckle.
"Plus, I love cooking. It's relaxing for me. Actually I've taken cooking jobs over the years. I'm in between right now. Usually I go about ten or twenty years and then take a ten year break or so, so no one recognizes me."
"Sounds like a long wait. But...interesting. Where have you worked?"
"Private chef mostly. But sometimes I work in a public restaurant. Mostly little mom and pop places that won't get me noticed. I learned all over the world because of my family." she smiled down at her glass.
"Really?"
"Yes. Paris, London, Rome, Budapest, Madrid, Lisbon, Patra and Tokyo. Just to name a few." she said as she let out a small laugh.
"Geez. Your family traveled that much?"
"In a way," Megan turned to lead the way to the living room. "Sometimes it as because they traveled, but other times it was because of marriage. It was different back then. Women weren't too free and it hadn't been because I was a vampire I probably never would've left my village. The first hundred or so years I traveled around Hungary. After that I made my way to Patra in Greece, and then on to Italy. By then I started to wonder about my family. It'd been about a hundred and fifty years. I wasn't even sure if I'd find them honestly. I got really lucky though. I found one of my grandchildren. And heard her daughter had married a Frenchman and moved to Paris. So I went and found she'd become a seamstress and he a shop owner of some kind. When they had a son who grew up reading about different places he decided to travel and write about them. He was the one who really helped me see the world. He made his way to London. Found a woman who loved to travel and married her even though he hadn't had any intentions of marrying. After that they decided to travel. Around that time Japan had started a trade route with London and they made their way there. Stayed a few months and then relations between the countries started to break down so they decided it was time to move on and made their way to India. They finally went back to London to settle down after that, though they never found the time to have kids. Sadly. But they did spoil their nieces and nephews to no end."
