--------------------It'd been three long years since that night in the alley. Stacy still couldn't even believe it'd happened. That was until she'd realized everything had changed. In the week that followed she'd gotten her dream job dancing and a penthouse apartment that had been paid with the black card she'd found on her coffee table when she'd found her way back to her apartment. She'd checked the account once and been floored by the amount in it. The nice thing was it always seemed to refill itself and she'd never been able to spend enough to actually make a dent. It'd only been a year after that she'd met Nathan, and after six months of dating the man he'd proposed.
Everything was going perfect for her. How could she have ever thought it'd change in no more than three hours after only three years? That she'd start back where she swore she'd never be.
Stacy stepped out of her bedroom and moved down the hall toward the stairs that lead to the open floor below. From the bottom of the stairs the whole first floor would be seen. It was what she'd liked most about the apartment. It'd been decorated in a more homely feel though since the modern look had seemed so cold to her. The TV in the living area was displaying some game while Nathan lounged watching it. Stacy smiled as she moved over, reaching out to place her hands on the back of the couch. She smiled as she leaned over and kissed his temple. "What do you want for diner?"
"Can't Babe. Going out with the guys tonight. They're showing a game at the sports bar later." he hadn't taken his eyes off the TV as he'd spoken.
"Oh? But I thought we could have a nice dinner in tonight. It's been so long."
"I know babe, and I'm sorry. But me and the guys have had this planned for like a week."
"I see. Then how about tomorrow? I'll make something nice for us." Stacy smiled as she gave him a light kiss on his temple.
"Yeah, sure Babe." he said as he patted the arm wrapped around his shoulders, still not looking away from the TV. Stacy let out a quiet sigh, giving a nod as she pulled away and moved toward the stairs again. She'd had one of the upstairs rooms converted into a dance studio for her. Nathan didn't even tell her when he left. She went downstairs in search of water and found him gone. She frowned a little before a sigh left her as she pulled the water bottle from the fridge. She was heading back toward the stairs when the private elevator they used chimed it's arrival. It had to be Nathan. It was a card key elevator and the desk would have called if it wasn't him. She put on a smile as she moved over.
The door slid aside and what Stacy saw hard her sucking in her breath. A slow smile slid over his face revealing the fangs. "Hello Stacy. It's been a few years. You're doing well I see." he said as he stepped from the elevator and toward her.
"W-What are you doing here? It's only been three years. You can't tell me my time is up already."
"No, of course not. But I am here to collect my end of the bargain."
"Huh? That doesn't make sense at all. You want my soul right?" she wasn't even sure if she'd heard him right at this point.
Tsktsk. Your soul wasn't want I wanted Stacy. You should've read the contract." he said with a smirk as he stopped a mere foot in front of her. "It was right there you know."
"Who the hell could read it?! The writing was too damn small. And you didn't give me a chance to."
He let out a sigh and shook his head. "Why am I always yelled at when it's their fault for not telling me they want to read the contract first."
"Because no one thinks about that shit." Stacy yelled as she stomped her foot. That little act seemed to snap her out of her mini tantrum. She paused and closed her eyes as she took a deep breath and let it out. "Okay, let's be civil..."
"You mean you."
"And be adults about this." she continued as she shot him a glare. "What exactly do you want if not my soul?" she ground out as nicely as she could.
"Hmm...well," he paused, looked heavenward and tapped his chin as he thought. Stacy swore her eyes started to twitch when his foot started to tap. "Your first child." he finally said with a smile for her.
She stared at him for a good minute before a smile formed. "Sure Rumpelstiltskin. Whatever you say. Hell fucking no! I'm not giving you my first kid."
"Well, I'd be the father anyway. So it'd be more like I'm talking him to live with me."
"Crazy demon say what?"
"I'd be his father so it's not like you'd want him here anyway."
"What. Do. You. Mean. By. Father." she said, stressing each word.
"Gods above, don't tell me your mother never had the sex talk. I mean really. Your how ol..."
"If you value your boys you will stop talking right now." she cut him off before shifting a little. "Okay. First: you want me to sleep with YOU? Second: I'm engaged. Lastly: You want ME to SLEEP with YOU?"
He rolled his eyes heavenward again. "That's usually what baby making requires."
"Right. Yeah no thank you."
"You don't have a choice Stacy. It's in the blood binding contract you signed." he said with a smirk.
"So?"
"If you don't agree then I get to take back everything from the last three years and your soul."
"That's bullcrap. Either way I lose!"
"You made a deal with a devil! How did you think it was going to come out fair?" he snapped back at her.
"Fine!" she hissed as she stepped back, narrowing her eyes at him. "I want dinner first though." she added as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I don't give a damn how good looking you are. I'm not going to just jump in the sack with you."
"Fine, get dressed." he said as he shooed her toward the stairs.
"Shove it." she snapped before going upstairs to shower and dress. When she came back it was in a red cocktail dress with black pumps. She'd pulled her hair into a bun and curled the loose strands. She froze at the bottom of the stairs and bit down on her red lipstick covered lip at the sight that waited for her.
That low blow demon had changed into a black suit with a white shirt and red tie. It was a modern cut suit and it fit him a little too well for Stacy's liking. She felt like nibbling on him. No Stacy! Stay strong, she reminded herself as she lifted her chin and started toward him. "I'm driving." she said as she moved to fill her clutch purse with the essentials from her everyday purse.
"That's fine. I didn't drive anyway." he said as he trailed her to the elevator.
"What do I call you? Asmodeus doesn't seem, well...like a good idea in public."
"It will do. Where we're going you don't have to worry about calling me that."
Stacy frowned at him and shook her head. "Fine, whatever." she said as she started to move off the elevator and toward her parking place. "Where are we going?"
"A place on the water called The Fire Pit." he said as he gave her a smile.
"You're kidding right?" she said with a frown as she pulled out onto the street. She'd heard of the restaurant. Despite its name it was a high end place that had a required dress code.
Silence descended on them for the rest of the drive. When they parked on the street he moved to help her out. Something that surprised her. He flashed her a smile as he linked their arms and started toward the entrance. They were greeted by a hostess when they entered through the door.
"The usual table?" she asked as she smile at Asmodeus.
"No, the deck table this time."
"Of course." she said as she grabbed two menus and started toward a set of stairs behind the hostess station.
"This place has two floors?" Stacy whispered as she walked arm in arm with him.
"Yes." was his only reply as they stepped out onto the deck that overlooked the bay. Stacy gasped at the sight, stepping closer to the railing. She looked back when someone took her hand, letting Lucifer lead her to the table. After he'd pushed her in he took his seat. The hostess left them, replaced by a waitress who sighed almost dreamily at the sight of Asmodeus. "We'll have the '39 red." he said as he flashed her a smile.
"Of course." she breathed out before turning and hurrying away. Stacy frowned after the girl before she turned her eyes to the menu.
"So, why is it okay to call you Asmodeus here?" she asked as she looked at him.
"Because the second floor is for demon customers." he said, looking over when their wine was brought and poured. He lifted his glass for a sip. "Only humans accompanied by a demon see the second floor."
"A-Are you serious?" she whispered as she stared toward the door that lead into the dining room. They were alone out on the deck though. "So it's like a hangout for you guys?"
"For most of us, yes." he smiled at her. "But some still prefer those hole in the wall 'someone is going to shoot me here' places." he said with a drop of his shoulders.
"I...see.' she whispered as she lifted her glass for a sip. "What are you going to get?" she asked, unsure of what else to talk about.
"They make a wonderful steak dish." he replied.
"Oh. I was thinking about trying the angel hair pasta with lobster."
"Also a good choice."
"Good. So," she frowned a little as she toyed with her glass. When she finally opened her mouth to speak the waitress returned for their orders. She had to wait for the girl to leave before she could speak. "You're being nice for someone who's supposed to be a demon."
"I am supposed to be seducing you. Why would I be mean?"
Stacy frowned at him and shook her head. "I'm not sleeping with you tonight. Did you seriously think I'd give it up just like that?" she asked as she stared at him, shocked really.
"I did considering it's in your contract. I don't know about you, but I am a busy person. I can't wait around for you to decide when you're ready."
"And I'm not a damn beck and call baby maker." she snapped at him. "You sound like a pig." she hissed as she stood, tossing her napkin on the table before hurrying back toward the stairs. She ignored her name being called as she left. As she struggled with her keys he caught up to her.
"You don't have a choice in any of this, you signed a contract."
"So you keep saying! You know what, screw you and your contract." she snapped out as she jerked her arm free. "I'm not agreeing to any of it."
"I see." she said as he stepped away from her and turned toward her car. His hands smacked down on the hood. All four tires exploded causing Stacy to let out a cry of surprise. She gasped when the smoke started to rise from the engine. "You can forget everything I've given you then. All of it is mine." he said as he stepped back from the car.
Stacy stared at him with her mouth open a little before she snapped it closed. "Fine, take the money. I don't need it now anyway." she yelled back at him.
A slow smirk formed as he took a step toward her. "I don't think you understand I'm taking everything from you. Everything you've earned since the day your blood touched that paper is mine." he leaned in close to her. "Agree to the contract and I'll give it all back."
Stacy stood stunned for a minute before she straightened her back and glared him down. "Take it then. The thought of sleeping with you makes me sick." she hissed at him.
"Fine. And just so you know. Your fiancé was only with you for your money. He was keeping a girlfriend on the side. Have a nice life cupcake." he smirked at her again, slowly fading away until she stood on the sidewalk alone.
Stacy shifted a little, biting down on her bottom lip as she fought the pain building in her chest. She turned though and started to walk. She didn't get more than half a block when she found herself sitting on the curb crying. Gods, what was she supposed to do now? She huddled a little as she wiped at her eyes with the tissue she'd pulled from her purse. He'd taken everything. That meant she was broke and homeless now. "Oh god why? Was I really that bad of a person?" she whispered as she looked toward the sky. "You don't have to answer that. I know what I did. I made a deal with the devil. I'm getting what I deserve." she sniffled as she wiped at her eyes and then her nose. As she stuffed the tissue into her purse she frowned and pulled out her phone.
She didn't really have a choice. She didn't have anywhere else to go. So, she did the one thing she told herself she'd never do. After finding the number in her address book she hesitated before pressing call. It took a couple rings before a gruff, sleep filled male voice answered the phone. She smiled a little despite the hatred she felt for herself for making the call.
"H-Hi Daddy." she practically whispered as she picked at her dress.
"Stacy? What's wrong baby? You're calling a little late. Did something happen?" his voice grew into a slight growl as his over protective father side kicked into gear.
"It's only nine Daddy. And no. I mean, well," she hesitated before clearing her throat. "My car broke down and I'm really sorry for calling," she paused before letting out a sigh. "Could you come pick me up? I'd really like to stay the night at the house tonight. And I know it's a long way." she whispered as she wiped at her eyes again.
There wasn't any hesitation in his reply. "Of course. You don't ever have to ask." sounds of movement and then keys jingling could be heard as he got ready to leave. "Just tell me where you're at and I'll come get you."
After telling him that she'd be at the coffee shop on the corner she stood and shuffled toward it. When she settled at the table inside the woman working took pity on her and gave her a free hot chocolate.
An hour and a half later Stacy looked up when the door opened . She smiled as a large man who filled the doorway entered. She stood and moved toward him. "Daddy." she said with a small sigh as she hugged him. "Thanks for coming to get me."
"No problem." he said as he pulled her into a bear hug. "Come on, let's get you home.' he said as he let her go and stepped back from her. Stacy moved to get her heels and purse from her table. She moved through the door when he opened it and waited before walking to the 1959 Buick Lesabre her father had gotten as a teen and fixed up over the years. She didn't understand why her parents had kept the boat, but for some reason it held a soft spot in their hearts. She climbed in and sighed as she settled in for the drive back to New Jersey. She'd swore to herself she'd never go back. When another sigh left her, her father looked over. "So, are you going to tell me what happened?" he asked finally.
"I'd rather not, Dad. I just want to put it behind me and move on." she muttered as she looked out the window.
There was a sigh from the other side of the car before silence descended in the car. When they pulled into the driveway of her parents house she climbed out and started toward the front door. She waited for him to open the door, pausing to kiss his cheek and mumble a tired thank you, before she shuffled up to her old room and collapsed on the bed.
