Megan couldn't believe she found it so hard to leave the Dragolands some days later when they'd finally gotten everything they needed. Honestly she didn't even want to leave but knew they had to. Something bad was about to happen and Daniel was tied to it. They both knew they couldn't hide out hoping someone else would deal with everything. As much as Daniel's parents didn't want to see him leave, even they had to agree that so long as he carried his tattoo he was at risk of something happening. Megan didn't want to leave Xavier either, but the fight they were about to step into wasn't meant for a child. So she said her tearful goodbyes and left with Daniel. Dellan and Xander had both wanted to come as well, but as leaders of their clans they had to stay behind and insisted they couldn't involve themselves in a possible war.

"I wonder if my car is still alive." Megan said hopefully, smiling at Daniel as they emerged from the mine entrance.

"Megan, it's been months. I hate to say it, but your car is more than likely gone. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if someone hasn't reported us missing or if the cops aren't investigating our disappearance."

"Nah, Stacy is the only one who'd probably do that and I know she hasn't. She's used to me taking off. I used to do it all the time before we stopped talking. I like to travel."

Daniel raised a brow at her, giving a small laugh as he held out his hand to help her down the trail. "So, what now?" he asked with a small frown.

"Well, we need more information about your tattoo. Actually just in general." she frowned a little in thought. "Since Sullivan held you captive, we should start with him. He's our only link right now."

Daniel gave a small nod, keeping his hand in hers as they walked. "Yeah. The only problem being that breaking into the compound after our escape is going to be near impossible. Especially with no dragons. I mean they eat most wizard spells. I'm sure they've put up barriers."

Megan frowned as she nodded. "Yeah. Damn dragons," she rolled her eyes. "How horrible of them to ditch us in our hour of need." Megan muttered, obviously teasing though by the smile on her face.

Daniel let out a snort as he stepped away. He frowned as he looked past Megan, brow raising. Megan tilted her head, turning to see what Daniel was looking at. She let out a small laugh at the sight of Xander, Dellan and Xavier making their way down the slope toward them. "What. Are. You. Doing. Here." Daniel ground out at them.

"Like we would really let you do this alone." Xavier said, eyes rolling as he stopped next to Megan.

Megan sighed a little. "Xavier, I thought you'd like staying with the dragons. I mean.." she frowned a little as she fell silent.

The teen smiled and shrugged. "I do. But.." the boy blushed a little as he looked away, rubbing the back of his neck. "I..Sullivan tried to use me too. I guess you could say I want to know why."

"You know why." Daniel muttered, shrugging at the look Megan shot him.

"He was worried." Xander said with a chuckle, patting Xavier's head lightly. Xavier shoved his hand away, glaring as his blush deepened.

Megan coughed to hide her laugh. "Okay, okay. Let's get outta here before the dragons try to take you guys back."

Xander laughed as he started after Megan and Daniel. "The gangs back together. So, where are we starting the mischief?"
