Alina's P.O.V

Have you asked me what were my plans for this weekend, I probably wouldn't have mentioned going to a party, because honestly I wasn't really looking forward to go out.

Yet what teenager stays at home on a Friday night? More so when her parents are all, but begging her to go out. I wasn't keen on staying in on a Friday night. The only thing people my age did was party, and l guess those are going to be my plans for tonight.

I pull back from the mirror, after making sure my makeup for tonight is flawlessly enact. Just so it wouldn't look like it was too much or less, you know? That's what is so exhausting about being a girl. Having to keep up with appearances. Not to mention every other injustice we have to face.

My government deciding over our bodies for one? Not fucking cool.

The party I was going too was going to be outdoors, so I changed into light wear. I stuck to blue high waisted shorts with a light blue crop top. To finish it off, I went with a pair of  beige sandals and a silver necklace. I hope it didn't look like I was doing to much. I had also decided to comb through my brown hair and then leaving it down. I sprayed some hair spray on, but only a little bit.

Just then, my phone rings with my best friend's, Bethany name flashing across the screen. I roll my eyes checking the time, just before I answer.

"Yes I'm ready and I'll be downstairs in like 20 seconds." I say into the earpiece. While waiting for her response, I decided whether or not if I wanted to take a cardigan. I decided against it instead.

"Good, but I was actually going to ask if I could borrow that cute green shirt you bought last month?" Bethany laughs.

I pick up my small clutch then go into my closet picking out the shirt Beth wanted. With that, I exited my room and out into the living room where my parents were.

"I'll see you outside right now." I say to Beth before hanging up.

My mom and dad were on the couches stretched out. They both turn towards my direction when I walked in.

"I'm leaving now." I say to them, smiling.

"You look lovely honey, have a good time." My mom smiles back.

"Do you need some money?" My dad asks, sitting up, reaching for his back pocket.

"Not really. I shouldn't be out so late to be honest. Maybe 12 the latest if anything." I shake my head.

"Be careful. Call us, if anything!" My mom says.

"For sure! Love you guys." I say to them opening the door and walked out.

I try ignoring the sensation that something is off tonight. I get an urge to run back and hug my parents. I didn’t do it though, because I'm going to be late.

Beth was parked out in the front. She drove a white convertible that I loved to dive into the back seat. Tonight, I sat in the front next to Beth.

"Hey!" She greets me, while I hand her the shirt.

"I seriously need all my clothes back. The ones you've borrowed since like, we met each other." I warn Beth in a serious tone.
