Bellamy's Pov

"The Resistance is refusing to make the deal," VE-7675 announced. "What now General Ren?"

From the corner of my eye, I saw Nalani snicker and shake her head, she knew this would happen. My lips tug into a smirk and I press the button on my transmitter. "Prepare all troops for battle, show no mercy."

Nalani's face dropped and she stood up from her place on the floor. "Who do you intend this battle to be for?"

"Don't worry about it your majesty," I knelt down to face her. "You are a prisoner, you won't be receiving any information."

"You're insane!" She shouted, desperately trying to remove the restraints VE-7675 put on her wrists. "You'll kill innocents just to insure you find what you are looking for?"

"The Resistance fighters are not innocents," I sweep into a low, dramatic bow. "Take her to an empty room, I want patrols guarding around the clock. Kill any of her guards or handmaidens that try to save her."

"Yes ma'am."

Every man in my army was trained to obey orders for even the most unconscionable acts. They were less men and women than weapons on legs, brainwashed to act like droids ready for combat. I question how it is still possible for a stormtrooper to still breathe and think like a human.

I step out of the glimmering palace, watching the petty X-Wings soar around outside the courtyard. My stormtroopers gather around me as some scramble to get into their own TIE fighter. This was a battle that I had been waiting for, for a very long time.

"General Ren, should we fire the first missile?" VE-7675 questioned, preparing to blast the canons.

I nod. "Fire at will."

Suddenly, the dark sky lit up in a fiery work of ash and one of the X-Wings crashed right in front of us. Smoke erupted from the destroyed ship and it exploded within seconds. This is when the first wave of Resistance fighters came out from hiding and attacked us on the ground.

I took a long breath before I ignited the elegant weapon. The purple blade excited me and it came into contact with the first Resistance fighter that dared to attack me. I swung my lightsaber at incoming blaster shots, deflecting them and sending them back to where they came from.

"General Ren, to your left!" VE-7675 yelled, pointing at three figures running towards the palace.

Three lightsabers glowed in the darkened streets of Naboo, one was double-sided. I didn't need to second guess who they were, it was clearly Luke Skywalker, Rey and the disappointment my father and I have to know. He noticed me around the same time I noticed him, I took off in a sprint.

"JUDE, NO!"

I was being chased.

I kept running, farther and farther away from the battleground until I reached a hidden valley away from public propaganda. I bent over to catch my breath, unable to comprehend that he was here.

Jude unexpectedly stepped out
from the shadows, stealing my breath away...he's grown up. Suddenly my defences are just paper, paper that is being soaked by the rapidly falling briny drops from the Nabooian skyline. We stand a few metres away from each other, unable to speak or even move.

I can feel my body shake, pushing away the tears for the missed time we will never get back. I will not cry, for that is a weakness to my enemy, even though I'm dying to release the tension of these ten long years.

He pulls his hood back and wipes the stray tears that have fallen from his dark eyes. He is eating me with his eyes, as if he can't quite believe I'm not part of an almost forgotten dream. "Bellamy."

I was quick to pry the dignity from my brother's swollen fingers and whipped around to clash my purple blade onto his blue. I held the blade in front of me, ready to strike at any move, just as my father had taught me. Though I had stalled Jude's strike, he went at it again but this time, his hit was filled with rage. My blade shivered under the brutality of his compelling strength. "Say something to me! Don't just fight me, you coward!" He yelled, pressing the blade closer to my face. The blade flashed as he brought it over his head and hummed a low, swift tune when he brought it down.

To my surprise, he had wounded me. I felt the blood trickle down my shoulder, dripping off my forearm. The sting was unbearable so I bit the inside of my cheek to prevent the hoarse scream I was holding back.

He wanted to hear my voice, that was why he was begging for me to talk. He pressed his lightsaber closer to my face until I could feel the electric energy threatening to cut me. With one single thought, I kicked him off of me and raised my hand to throw him against a wall. His lightsaber tumbled out of his hand and I kicked it away from his reach. "I don't know who you are," I stood over him.

Clenching his stomach, he bent over to spit out the blood pooling in his mouth. "I'm your brother Bellamy."

"That name no longer has any meaning to me and unless you are here to swear yourself to Snoke's teachings, you mean nothing to me."

Weakened from the fall, he stumbled to stand. "Don't go, not again. This isn't the life mother wanted for you!"

I whirled around, my jaw clenched. "Don't you dare bring her into this!"

"Why not? Because you know I'm right?"

"She was killed because of the Resistance, they blew up Starkiller base knowing she was on it!" I snarl, gripping onto my lightsaber in case he tried to attack me once more. "Knowing we were on it!"

"You've been blinded by power! You're corrupted!" He hissed. "This life was never meant for you!"

From the bushes sprang Luke Skywalker and Rey, both wielding their sabers. "Bellamy, put down your weapon."

Rey's eyes scanned over me, her mouth dropped slightly. I felt her heart rate pick up and I couldn't help but grin sinisterly. "Surprised?"

"I just-" She stopped herself, sighing. "You've been cornered, you can't escape."

"It is you who can't escape," I shake my head, slowly taking a step back. "Your love for me is a blindness, you can't kill me and because of that, I can use it as an advantage." Before anyone can say anything else, I run.
