Bellamy's Pov

I can feel my cheek getting wet with tears. I don't remember crying for pain for the last few years of my life. Maybe it's something different but it feels as if  the pain I've been pushing away throughout my entire life had suddenly been unleashed. All I can do is lay here and hear my own pathetic sobs. I stare, unable to move, as blood gushes from the wound on my shoulder. It stings like hell and if I move, it was as if fire shoots through my entire body.

Whoever is coming up the passageway is either large and heavily armed or my father, who considers himself untouchable. Whilst I sink back into the cold ground of the Finalizer, this person allows their footsteps to echo off the ship announcing their arrival to me. "Isidore?"

My eyes widen and I can't believe it. My voice is hoarse from screaming but I manage to whisper out his name. "Elwood?"

His head suddenly appeared from around the corner and his mouth drops. Quickly, he ran over to me, dropping to his knees and looking down at my wound. "You're bleeding out, we need a medic."

The pain that once burned like fire had faded away to an icy numbness. Black filled the edges of my vision and the only thing I could hear was my own heartbeat. Occasionally I was able to keep my eyes open and look into Elwood's own pair of hazel eyes. "Please just let me die."

"Are you crazy?" Elwood snapped, applying pressure against the large gash on my arm. "I'm not going to let you die, you're not dying today!"

My breath came in ragged, shallow gasps. "You don't understand-" I cry out, leaving my pride behind and sobbing. "I failed him, I failed my father! I let them escape!"

"No you don't understand, I'm not letting you die!"

Seconds passed as I lay there before I heard voices. Stormtroopers swarmed all over me, before they realized that my father had arrived. He knelt beside me, his mask showing no emotion but I felt his worry. "What happened Lieutenant Elwood?"

Elwood looked down at me, his face kind and true, far too genuine for the First Order. "Jude Solo and the pilot escaped sir."

"What?" My father snarled, standing up and backing away from us. "How did they escape the wrath of my daughter?"

Elwood dropped his head, his breath shaky and scared. "I let them sir."

All I can do is open my eyes and stare at him, unable to make a sound. I look over at my father who has ignited his lightsaber.

Oh my god, he's going to kill him!

I try to scream but a sharp pain springs to life when I try to push myself up. I start crying again, painfully trying to make some kind of agonizing sound but I'm worn out before I get anywhere.

"With all due respect sir," Elwood shut his eyes, preparing himself. "I am allowed a trial."

My father stopped and looked down at me, his gaze menacing. "Take Isidore to the med bay immediately!" He ordered, returning his conversation with Elwood. "I'll deal with you later."

"Please wake up darling."

My eyes open and my limbs flex in shock. There is a liquid in them, around my entire body too. Tubes run up each nostril and into my arms and legs. There is binding on my shoulder and around my neck. Without a conscious thought, I sit up without a mental restraint on the force I can use.  I want to stand up but I know I'll be shaky, lightheaded and weak.

I remember it all.

I remember slowly losing consciousness as my father had Elwood arrested for treason, making sure to kick him in the gut to get his point across. I remember my father leaning over the med bay bed as they hooked me up to all these machines and I remember hearing a voice.

This wasn't any voice. It was sweet and loving, like a meadow on Naboo or a starry night on Tatooine.

It was motherly.

"Thank the maker!" L-WYN startled me. "You are alive!"

I rub my eyes, allowing myself to get used to the horribly lit room. My first instinct is clear, I know who my priority is. "Where is Elwood?"

"I was informed not to tell you about Lieutenant Cedar J. Elwood's whereabouts."

"By who?" I demand.

"By your father!" L-WYN panicked, raising her arms in defence. "Please don't turn me into space junk!"

A wave of anger hits me and I swing my legs over the bed. "Get someone to release me from here immediately."

"I am afraid that would not be wise General Ren," L-WYN informed. "You lost almost two litres of blood, you are lucky to be alive!" She carefully takes a few slow steps towards me. "Please lay down Isidore, I do not want to lose you."

In defeat, I lay back down and face to white ceiling. "What is going to happen to Elwood?"

"Your father demands he be put to death in front of the First Order. Snoke is tired of people rebelling on him when we are already so close to being defeated," L-WYN tells me. "His execution is set for tonight."

A single tear slid down from my dark, raven eyes, followed by another one, and another one, until soon, a steady stream of tears flowed it's way down my pale and freckled cheeks. Releasing the sadness and sorrow that has been held inside of me for all this time but I still did not make a sound. "Where?"

"The docking bay."

My eyes narrowed, searching for my lightsaber somewhere in my room. I lay eyes on it and suddenly become more calm. I look down at the white med bay gown I have been forcefully put into and wave for L-WYN to come closer. "Can you bring me some food please L-WYN? Almost dying works up an appetite."

"Of course!" L-WYN nodded. "I'll be back in a few minutes."

"Perfect." I smile, waving goodbye as she walks away before ripping the blanket off my legs and using the force to grab my lightsaber.

I stand up, my legs wobbly and my heart rate picking up within seconds, but that won't stop me. I lean against the wall, shuffling down to the door before stopping to take a breath. I don't need some old wise Jedi to make up a motto for me, I'll make up my own:

You don't need to be the good guy to be a hero and you don't have be heartless to be the bad guy.
