Jude's Pov

I don't move.

I don't speak.

I am frozen to the spot. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest and echoing in my ears. Deep heavy breaths escaped my lungs as a million chills marched down my spine. The beating gets louder and louder, surely if I keep this up, I'll pass out. The sound is intolerable, my breathes get deeper and deeper by the second. I look up at Luke who is already desperately trying to contact someone on his transmitter device.

Rey is beside me, waving her hand in front of my face as I feel the earth slipping farther and farther away from me. She's saying something to me but I can't hear a word that's coming out of her mouth.

Between the mixture of my heart beating louder than thunder and Rey shaking me, the last thing I hear before I slip into an abyss shatters me.

"Blue leader's ship went down and they took her hostage."

The most evidential part of growing up, is realizing you can't always save the ones you love. I guess you could say that I grew up a little faster than other children. I learnt this when my mother fell to her death in front of my very eyes. It still haunts me, it always will.

Most people would say I'm completely crazy now. Even I think I'm crazy for thinking that Bellamy can come back from the Dark Side. She was never meant to have this life and I don't mean being able to fight. Bellamy was tougher than me growing up so I always expected she'd become skilled in combat just not when it came to combat that was used to hurt me.

When Rey and I found Uncle Luke all those years ago, there wasn't a day that she didn't cross my mind. Sometimes I'd spend hours looking at the sky, thinking that maybe one day she'd be coming to join us. When we returned to D'Qar after two years of training and rare contact with the galaxy, the first thing I did was ask my grandmother if they had saved Bellamy yet.

My grandmother explained to me that they had lost several men because of all the rescue mission attempts that had been set in place, trying to save my sister from the First Order. When I was fourteen, it was then that we discovered that she didn't want to be rescued. She had become reckless and powerful. She holds my mother's purple lightsaber, she should've known better.

Sometimes I wonder...

"Jude."

What it would have been like...

"Hey, he's waking up!"

If Kylo Ren decided to be my father...

"Welcome back Solo."

Slowly and reluctantly, I uncover my face. I blink, close my eyes, and blink again. Streaks of sunlight penetrate the window and blind me. I jolt up and rub my knuckles into my eyes. My mouth is dry and my back aches. "Uncle Luke?"

"I'm here." He responded.

"We all are," My grandmother confirmed. "It's okay, you're safe Jude."

My vision slowly returns to me and I immediately notice that I'm in the sickbay, surrounded by my grandmother, Uncle Luke, Poe, Finn, Rey and Kingsley. In a great daze, I remember the horrible news. "Corinthia?"

Poe bit his lip, shoving his hands into his jumpsuit pockets. "They got her kid."

"They're going to kill her!" I try to move but my arm is connected to a numerous amount of tubes. "We can't just leave her to die!"

"Of course not buddy," Finn shook his head, carrying Kingsley in his arms. "We are trying to figure something out, something affective."

I lay back down and stare at the ceiling, a single tear threatening to escape my glossy eyes. "I can't lose her."

Rey bent down and pressed a kiss to my forehead. "We aren't going to let her die."

My grandmother stood from her chair in the sickbay and wrapped her hand around mine. She sat like that for awhile, no one daring to say anything in case they interrupt her. "Ben Jude Solo," I swear, everyone in the room stopped breathing. "As General of the Resistance, I won't leave any of my pilots in the hands of the First Order, especially Corinthia."

I nod my head slightly. "Okay."

"Okay," She nods in return. "Everyone get back to your positions."

"Yes ma'am."

Within seconds, everyone scattered away and it was just me, alone in the sickbay with other patients I didn't know. I swing my legs over and press my bare toes against the cold floor, sighing tiredly. "Leia Organa is quite the woman in charge."

I look up and my eyes meet the hazy brown pair of Nalani Trelawney. Before I can speak, the queen continues to talk. "She's the daughter of Padmè Amidala and I idolized her growing up. This of course, makes you the great grandson of Padmè."

"Your majesty, what are you doing here?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"Don't you know?" She questioned, her voice light and airy, calm and sweet. "The Resistance retreated after you fell ill and the First Order now have a price on my head for betraying their stupid deal. The senate overruled my demand to stay with my people so now I am under the protection of the Resistance."

"Oh," Is all I say until I can think of something. "What about your duties?"

"One of my handmaidens will take my place until I return, I put my full trust in her." She explains, toying with the white sickbay gown. "I also put my full faith in the Resistance, I trust that you will keep me safe."
