Bellamy's Pov

The moment of silence was over.

A war had started and I intended to help finish it.

Me.

Bellamy Solo, daughter of Elara Jane and Ben Solo.

Luke told me I should keep going over the simple facts in my head, until it feels natural again. It still doesn't feel natural, Elwood has to stop himself from calling me Issy. Luke suggested he call me Bell, a nickname I apparently once had when I was younger.

Elwood has become very popular around the Resistance Base. Pilots would try to keep their children away from him, but he was too interesting not to notice. After a week of eating in the mess hall, the Resistance kids wanted to hear all about Elwood's adventures as an ex-First Order general. He was all smile and no frown, he was kindness and honesty. Soon enough, the other pilots trusted him.

With a smile, he waved me over from his spot near the door. "Some speech huh?"

"General Trelawney is exceptionally good with her words."

He wraps an arm around me, we are acting like actual teenagers. "How are you doing today?"

I shrug. "It's rough and my brain hurts."

"For obvious reasons."

Luke and Jude walk up to us, Jude's head directed at the ground. He must feel the same way, confused, lost and alone.

"Master Skywalker," Elwood shook Luke's hand. "Hello Jude."

Jude looked up and smiled slightly. "Cedar, how are you?"

"Ready to end this war," Elwood stated. "What can I do to help?"

"Precisely why I'm here," Luke nodded. "It is clear to me that you and Bellamy are a rather good team-"

A year ago, I wanted to set his hair on fire and stab him with my lightsaber.

"-therefore, it is up to you if you'd like to accompany us on our mission. However, General Trelawney has also asked for your assistance in directing the fleet from the base."

"Really?" He gapes. "Two weeks ago, I tried to kill her."

Jude grins proudly. "She's forgiving."

"She's stupid," Everyone turns to me and my eyes widen. I raise my hand to my mouth, shaking my head foolishly. "I did not mean to say that."

"Relax," Jude tried. "Sometimes things slip."

My nerves calm and I nod my head, putting a hand through my messy raven hair. "She's a great leader but she hardly knows us."

"She trusts you, that should be enough."

"I'm flattered," Elwood interferes. "But my place is with Bellamy."

My cheeks heat up and I almost giggle, but I remain cold because Dark or Light, I'm a bitch. "When do we leave?"

"Very soon," Luke tells us, fishing for something in his robe pocket. "But I believe you'll be needing this." He hands me my lightsaber and a fire is rekindled.

I take it from his grasp. "I thought I'd never see this again."

"Unlikely, these things always find a way back."

"You'll be given a blaster as well," Jude explains to Elwood. "But for obvious reasons, the Senate has asked we don't arm you until we are aboard the ship."

"Got it."

I forgot to mention, Elwood has been wiped clean. His hundreds of kills have been catergorized as a plea of help for being under the control of the First Order. Yeah, alright, I'll give you that one Elwood. Maybe things have changed, but even I wouldn't give him all the trust.

"I have to go talk to Nalani before we leave, I'll see you guys later." Jude waved as he walked away.

"He got a thing with her or something?" Elwood raises his eyebrow.

"Oh right, you missed their plea of love on Naboo," I chuckle. "Didn't think my brother would end up with a queen."

I notice Luke shake his head, smiling proudly.

"What?"

"I didn't think my great niece would end up being the first Gray Jedi in over a decade."

My eyes widen in surprise. "Holy hell."

"What? What's a Gray Jedi?" Elwood questions, his eyebrows knitting together.

"A Force sensitive person who is neither Sith nor Jedi," Luke explains. "Bellamy is exactly that."

"Holy hell," I repeat. "My mother's dream was to meet a Gray Jedi..."

"Well now her daughter is exactly that," Luke points out. "I'll see you when we start boarding."

Elwood and I wave to Luke as he departs from us, my eyes still widened. Everything still felt so new to me, being referred to as the good guy and all. Being known by everyone as the poor girl who was brainwashed, the victim– I was not a victim. I will never be the victim.

I pull on my sleeves and hug my chest. "After this is all over, we have to get out of here."

"Go far away?"

I nod. "Far, far away. I can't stay here, not forever."

"Alright, I promise to take you somewhere far away so you don't have to live out your life on the Resistance Base."

"It's not the Resistance Base," I tell him. "It's the title. I can't be known as Elara Jane's traumatized daughter, I need to be a nobody. I want to be a nobody."

Surprised, Elwood presses a kiss to my forehead. "You don't need to explain yourself Bell, I'm with you."

"I love you so much," I smile, my eyes closed. "I don't deserve you."

"Get over yourself princess," He shakes his head. "Come on, let's go kick some ass."

"Hey, you don't get to tell me what to do!" I command, trying to keep a straight face.

"Whatever you say...Solo"

And I laughed.

There's a reason love is invisible, undetectable with anything but our minds. We aren't evolved enough to be trusted with it. We'd try to engineer it, alter it, use it, weaponize it. Aren't there always great reasons to do immoral acts? Power addiction is always the wrong route to escape fear. The only way to understand love is to feel it, embody it, embrace it.

The biggest plot-twist? I did it, I learnt to love...and I did it all with smile.
