Bellamy's Pov

The glowing flames warmed my face as I stood beside the raging fire. I stood with my hands behind my back and my feet angled with my shoulders. The heat from the cremation fire seemed to be sucked into the frigid air. The fire licked at the the wood, sending sparks that disappeared in the night sky. After a long time, the flames grew until the heat warmed my entire body, orange flames celebrated with their wild flickering dance.

No one stayed long enough to see my father turn to dust. I didn't blame them, his one heroic act doesn't make up for things he had done. Although, Jude was the last one to leave. He blamed himself. He thought he could of saved him if he had done things differently. Unfortunately, whenever Jude celebrated with someone who lost a sibling, parent, wife, husband or friend, he blamed himself.

My father's lightsaber is tucked away on the belt of my dress. The beige silk of my shimmering gown soon acted like a heater, and my cold heart was warmed. My hair, done is Nabooian ringlets, was above my head so my ears remained frosty and cold. It wasn't my idea to wear a dress to say the least, Nalani thought it would be a good way to represent a peaceful future.

"You've been out here for awhile, aren't you cold?"

I look up from the fire and see Elwood. Elwood looked like some kind of Prince Charming. In the end, I suppose he was my Prince Charming. I wasn't his damsel in distress though, I was his Grey Jedi. I reach out for him to take my hand and when he does, the pain in my heart decreases. "I'm alright."

"You're missing a great party," He tells me, fidgeting in his Naboo attire. "Poe and Finn brought their new daughter Aurora."

I smile faintly. "I'm not sure it is my place to party yet."

He frowned, moving his hand to the small of my back and starts rubbing soothing circles. "I don't think anyone has told you this, but I'm sorry."

"I hope he has found peace with my mother," I look up at him, his boyish hair glossed back. "That's all I truly want."

He kisses the side of my head. "I'll be waiting for you. I want to see you dance at least once in our lives."

"Alright, alright! I'll be there, just give me a few more moments."

He pecks my lips quickly before he turns around to leave the celebratory party. Every Resistance fighter was cooped up in the small Nabooian palace, nobody really could complain though. We had won another battle.

When I was eleven, around the same time Jude started training to be a Jedi, my father told me I would do great things. That memory was taken away from me but I remember now. I remember him crouching down to reach my height, carefully braiding my hair into two separate pieces and telling me:

"One day you will do great things. You will see a new horizon and learn to love like I have. One day is not today my darling, but I believe it to be soon."

I feel my throat clench and my nose run. A few stray tears run down my cheeks as I hug my chest, hoping to stop myself before I break. A hand suddenly touches my shoulder and I wipe my watery eyes. Overwhelmed with her sudden appearance, I almost fall backwards.

"Leia?"

She nods her head.

"I thought you-" I raise an eyebrow. "I thought you were in a coma."

"That's what everyone said when they first saw me," She explains, leaning all her weight onto a crafted cane. "I thought you were a Sith?"

A small smile forms on my face. "Touché."

"Do you remember me?"

"I do," I confirm. "Bits and pieces of you are slowly coming back."

Leia's sad eyes look towards the burning fire. "Do you know who he was to me?"

I bite my lip before answering. "He was your son."

Leia's sadness flowed through her veins very noticeably. It was a poison to her spirit, dulling her, hurting her other emotions. It was as if a black mist had settled upon her and refused to shift, and no matter how bright the day was she would feel no sun and hear no bird sing. For obvious reasons, it seemed the world was lost to her and she knew of nothing that would bring it back into focus.

Her son was dead.

Yet, she still smiled.

"I'm sorry," I found myself saying. "I wish you could of seen him one last time."

"My son disappeared a long time ago," She tells me. "I searched everywhere for him, prayed every night he would return home. Tonight? Tonight he did, tonight he has come back home." She doesn't hesitate, she turns around and hugs me. "I'm sorry that you lost your father Bellamy, he won't be forgotten."

"I do not hate him," I say honestly. "Even before I knew why he took away my memories. When I returned to the Light, a piece of me knew he wasn't going to disown me or try to kill me for betraying him. I've always known he cared for me, even when I did not remember."

"Ben was a good man," Leia watches the fire with astonishment. "I just wish he had realized sooner that there was still good left in him."

There is a long silence before I question. "Do you think he's with my mother?"

"I don't think he is, I know he is."

Instead of crying anymore, I take his lightsaber off my belt and take a few steps towards the fire. Out of all the things I have ever done in my life, this would be my bravest moment. I stick my hand through the blazing flames and leave his lightsaber on his chest. "One day, we'll meet again father." I promise, my face radiating bravery and adoration. "I do believe this." I pull back and return to my spot beside Leia. "What do I do now?"

"I do believe you saved that young man a dance."
