Long Time

Seven days. Seven long days passed since you remembered the underground. Now you were able to remember every single timeline you lived through – genocide and pacifist, all of them. And with every day your heart ached more and more. Oh how you missed your friends and, of course, you missed Sans with every piece of your body may it even be so little.

If you could, you'd leave on the first day you remembered, but it was impossible to leave Frisk just like that. So you took your time to end unfinished businesses, say goodbye to your human friends – telling them you're going on a small trip to get new inspiration for the coming collage year – and talked to Frisk everyday telling her you had to leave some day. With the time she got used to your plan. To your parents you said you were going to live with your best friend for a while to see if you could make it alone. This was of course a lie, but no one noticed it.

Today was the day you were heading to Mt. Ebott once again. This time you prepared yourself well. With a backpack full with pictures of Frisk and your hometown to show to the monster, a warm sweater for Snowdin, some drawings Frisk made and of course food.

So the time to leave came.

Give mother a kiss, father a hug, pet Frisk on the head.

"We talked about it many times before, but the time is now." you whispered to Frisk who had tears in her eyes. "Be good, will you?" A memory of Toriel flashed before your eyes, making you hold still for a second.

Fake a smile and turn away.

Start alone.

'I must leave everything I know in the world hoping to find the one I wish to live in.' As no one could see you anymore, small tears run down your checks. It's not that you were going to miss the surface if you're not able to break the barrier. No... The only think that breaks your heart is imaging little Frisk growing up without you around. She'd be more than happy to meet the skele-bros, although she can't remember them.

I'm off, not looking back.

This is my time, my journey.

I have to do this my way.

I walk in a girl – I will walk out a woman ready to face the world.

[*Seeing Mt. Ebott again, but this time at day, fills you with determination.]

The forest looked different, because you remembered only being able to see two meters before you and now you could see far more than that. With your hands holding the rim of your shirt you walked into the forest, up the mountain. And you walked and walked and walked who-knows-how-long... Your mind spinned making you feel dizzy from time to time. Also worries made your tummy hurt.

What if you weren't able to find the –

Suddenly you lost ground under your feet and fell like Alice who followed the white rabbit into its hole. All you could do was screaming your lungs out and holding tightly onto your backpack. Falling down was a part you didn't remember from last time.

After a while you fell so deep, that no light reached you and so it felt like you were hovering in the void, which filled you with anxiety. The last time you visited the void you deleted your DATA and faced Chara for the last time. You could firmly fell the pain of their knife in your chest, feeling how you HP sunk.

But your HP was at 20!

Then you noticed there was no need to scream. You faced death before so many times. Your life ended so often you can't even tell.

But right now, your life begins. This fall is the beginning of a better time. You are going to change everything. The monster will be able to see the sky.

With that you closed your mouth and smiled. Soon you closed your eyes, just to fall asleep as if you have done it for a long time. It was a dreamless sleep, but that was fine. The sight of yellow flowers under you made you cry in happiness as you woke up after what felt like a few seconds.

"I'm here... I'm back..." you whispered unable to believe it. If there is a future there is a time to mending – time to see your troubles coming to an end. Lis is never hopeless however great your sorrows are, if you're looking forward to a new tomorrow. Though the heart can be heavy and hurt you many time, if there is time for praying there is time to healing.

For the best time didn't occurred yet, for the highest peak hasn't been climbed, you pushed yourself from the flowerbed and walked a few steps to pick up your backpack that landed a few meters behind you. Beside it laid a little stick. It wasn't straight or even special. In truth it looked kind of shabby and old.

As fast as you could you picked it up. This was your stick. Your friend. Your guard. Maybe it wasn't deadly as a knife – it made 0 damage after all – but you wished for nothing else.

So you walked upwards to the door, where Flow appeared from the ground greeting you.

"Hello Flowey." you greeted the evil flower.

"How do you know my name?" he asked confused, but quickly understood what was happening. "Howdy, so you know about this world. You can reset the time... I see. Let's get over with this."

And with this world said petals appeared all around you. With big steps you run up to Flowey, knowing that Toriel would save you if you were about to die. The petals came closer and closer as you reached the flower. He looked somewhat between angry and confused, but as you kneeled down to his level and hugged it the confused to over his face.

"What are you doing you idiot!?" Flowey screamed and tried to get away from you. The petals stopped to move, since they would hurt Flowey as well right now. After a moment they disappeared.

Softly you stroked over Flowey's yellow petals. "Shh... It's alright. The game is over. I'm sorry, but I can't let you win this time." you whispered, remembering that Asriel was still in Flowey somewhere.

"What the-?!" said the flower. More he could not say, because Toriel appeared and saved you with her small fire balls, just like the first time.

"Hello, Toriel. It's nice to see you again. There is a lot I wish to speak about with you." was the first thing you said, even before she could introduce herself. Just like Flowey the goat-monster looked taken aback.

After a while she smiled, took you by hand and took you through the ruins. "Well then, let's speak at my place, child. It feels like I've met you before."

"We did met before. That's what I want to talk about." You nearly added: You're something like a mother to me... But that would be creepy, wouldn't it?

After all... this time it was a true reset. No timeline has existed till yet. Right now your very first run started. Toriel is lying to you for sure – it's impossible for her to remember you, since you never really met.

The only person who maybe can remember you, and you wished for that to happen, was Sans. Though, firstly you have to come past Toriel. It will be easier to tell her the truth. One way or another she will know it someday.

And you really needed someone to talk about everything before you face Sans.
