Finding the right way
Wandering child of the earth
Do you know just how much you're worth?
You have walked this path since your birth
You were destined for moreAnd so you walked down the path to finally meet the end of your story. By now months have passed since you lived in the underground. Seeing all the smiling faces around you gave you strength with every step you took towards the ruins. It was time to go back to the place where it all began.
There are those who'll tell you you're wrong
They will try to silence your song
But right here is where you belong
So don't search anymoreEven if the way was a rough one, you were always able to spare everyone.
No... Not everyone. Chara... You haven't spared them. And you kinda felt guilty. Violence brings only more violence with it. Maybe if someone showed Chara that the live could be fun too, they wouldn't harm anyone. This are all questions that popped up in your mind. To tell the truth, only Alphys and, of course, Gaster knew about Chara and the genocide run you did in your former life.
You never decided to tell anyone else.
You are the dawn of a new day that's waking
A masterpiece still in the making
The blue in an ocean of grey
You are right where you need to be
Poised to inspire and to succeed
You'll look back and you'll realize one dayYou decided to spare them the pain of those memories. Seriously, how could you say so Papyrus that you killed him even though he believed in you? Or how can you face Sans once again? Each time he make you laugh you are on the bricks of tears. Having someone so near and still not be able to hold them is really painful. But you were prepared for the pain. It was you torment for all the bad things you did. Maybe one day in the far away future he will consider you as a suitable partner, but till then you will have to live on.
In your eyes there is doubt
As you try to figure it out
But that's not what life is about
So have faith there's a wayYour hands trembled as you reached the meadow with a lot of golden flowers deep in a cave. This was the place you woke up every time when a new timeline started. Here waited someone, you normally would ignore. A person who has been long forgotten. Someone who was Chara's best friend and who's story made you cry the first time you heard it.
"Hey, Flowey. Look what I brought for you." you beamed happily as you kneeled down trying to control your trembling body. Why were you so nervous? Was it because you didn't know if your plan was going to work? Maybe. Maybe not.
"Howdy! What are a loser like you doing here?" laughed the flower with an evil grin.
"I'm here to take you with me to Alphys. We are going to bring you back Asriel."
Studelly his face fell and he looked serious. "What makes you think that I want to go back? Or even that I can go back? I don't have a soul or have you forgotten that you stupid?"
You shock your head and started to dig around the flower.
"Though the world may try to define you
It can't take the light that's inside you
So don't you dare try to hide
Let your fears fade away " you spoke softly picking him up and setting down into a pot you brought along with you. "Everyone will be happy to have you back. Alphys and I have come up with an idea that will allow you to come back to yourself and help us open the barrier."Actually, it was Gaster who came up with the idea. You would give a big part of your soul to Flowey and at the same time you'd go to the void and try to restore Chara's soul so you could take in a part and the rest would be for Asriel. Since your soul was filled with determination nothing wrong should go wrong. And since you learned to deal with Chara you were sure to take control of them if the spirit should ever awake.
With this solution even the hated fallen child would receive some love.
You are the dawn of a new day that's waking
A masterpiece still in the making
The blue in an ocean of grey
You are right where you need to be
Poised to inspire and to succeed
You'll look back and you'll realize one day"Are you stupid? Like I care! Leave me alone!" yelled Flowey as you picked up the pot and started to walk out of the cave and made your way through the ruins without anyone noticing you. Normally you would take the boat from Snowdin to the hotlands, but you decided to go to the waterfalls. There was still a thing you had to do.
After all right now you lived your last hours as you are. Maybe the soul-change would have an effect on your being, or it would simply kill you. Or you would have to live with only around 40% of your soul and no one could tell the consequences. Not even Gaster himself.
One way or another, there will be enough souls to open the barrier without Asgore having to take one more burden to his shoulders.
You were starting a new era for the monsters, for your friends. Willingly you'd paid the highest price for their happiness.
As you reached the that one cave behind a waterfall far away from the path you set Flowey down and asked him kindly to wait till you come back. All he did was laugh over how foolish you were, but as he saw a glimmer of sadness in your eyes, he went silent.
Quickly you passed the waterfall and stood there for a while staring at one lonely echo flower. It had no story to tell, since no one knew of its existence. Well, only the old Sans did know.
A loud breath escaped your lips. Then you closed your eyes and started to talk. You told your whole story. How Frisk and you fell down, how Chara possessed you both, how you killed everyone and how once reached the true pacifist ending, only to die before leaving. Also you explained everything about the resets and you talked about Gaster. he shouldn't be forgotten if something happens to you...
You are the dawn of a new day that's waking
A masterpiece still in the making
The blue in an ocean of grey
You are right where you need to be
Poised to inspire and to succeed
Soon you'll finally find your own way"I was always afraid of telling this all. I hated myself. But now I know which path I have to take and I really believe it is the right one. Somehow I wish no one will ever hear this, but I just have to let it all out. Oh and... There is Sans. That puny skeleton. To tell the truth, I don't know how long monsters live. Maybe you'll find this flower again and hear it, but I doubt it. This place is more like a glitch than a real place. Anyway... I've always wanted to thank you and say that I love you. I really do. It's weird for you, I know, but you and I were really close in the last timeline. There is no use in binding my shoes. I will always fall for you – no matter what. ... I will love you all to the end of the time. Please don't cry if something happens. It was my free decision. Goodbye guys."
With cheeks wet from tears you leaved the lonely flower in its cave, picked up Flowey and went to Alphys, where everything was ready. The true lab could be the last thing you would ever see.
