Aphmau's POV

I sat at the dorm, going through my schedule and making sure I have everything for my classes.

Garroth laid next to me, his head in my lap as I went through my folders. He was rambling about something I wasn't really paying attention to, but occasionally agreeing and saying I understood.

He paused.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, looking down at him.

"I.. Something feels wrong." His eyebrows drew together. "Aphmau, something feels really wrong."

My phone began to ring from an unknown number.

"Hey, shh." I said to him. "I'll put it on speaker."

  I hit answer.

  "Hello?" I asked.

"Hello. Is this Ms. Aphmau Lorde?" A voice called.

"Yes," I looked back down to Garroth. "Is something wrong?"

"You were the first in Mr. Zvahl's contacts. We could not get a hold of Mr. Garroth Ro'meave."

Garroth fumbled to get his phone out, seeing five missed calls from the same number as I was speaking to.

"Shit." He mouthed.

"Okay.. Is something wrong?" I repeated, my heartbeat beginning to fasten.

"Mr. Zvahl was injured severely in a car crash about three minutes ago, and is being taken to a hospital right now--"

My hand flew up to my mouth, my stomach dropping. Garroth bolted upright.

"What?! How? Is he okay? Oh my god, oh my god!"

"Ms., please remain calm." The man's voice said.

   "Calm?" I freaked. "I--"

"He has arrived at the hospital, Ma'am." He gently informed. "Phoenix Medical."

"T-thank you." I felt tears burning in my eyes. "Thank you."

   The line went dead.

I began panicking, dropping my phone. Garroth stood up, pulling me up with him. We grabbed our shoes and bolted out of the door.

We raced to his car, climbing in and speeding to the hospital as fast as we could go.

I looked over to him, and saw tears threatening to spill. It hurt to see him like that.

I rested my hand over his, wiping my own tears.

"He'll be okay." I reminded both him and myself. "He'll be fine."

It didn't seem like he could talk. His face was pale, and it looked like he wanted to scream.

The hospital was only a few minutes away, so we arrived quickly, hopping out of the car and racing to the front desk.

"Who are you here for--" the receptionist got cut off.

"Zvahl!" Garroth cried out. "Laurance!"

"He is not ready to be seen yet." She looked up, looking pissed off that she was cut off. "He is undergoing surgery."

He turned around, walking towards the doors. I quickly thanked the lady, chasing after him.
