Garroth's POV

I couldn't fall asleep after Aphmau left, so I decided to just get up and go eat something.

I'm lucky my first class didn't start until nine. Mornings and I don't mix very well.

I get up, not bothering to change my clothes. I threw on my shoes and just left.

I was walking down to the cafeteria area when I felt eyes burning into the back of my head.

I turned around, narrowing my eyes. A familiar tussle of golden hair made me groan.

  "Azura, come out here."

"H-hi, Garroth!" She stepped out, slightly smiling.

"Are you serious?" I spat. "You're going that low? Stalking me?"

Her eyebrows drew together. "G-Garroth, you don't understand. S-she's forcing me."

  "What?" I asked.

"Ivy." She whispered, tears gathering in her eyes. "She's forcing me to help her."

"Help her do what?! Why should I even believe you?"

"She wants Aphmau dead, Garroth." She simply stated. "And I'm afraid if I don't get loose of her grip, she's going to make me kill her."

"Why should I believe you?" I repeated.

She sighed, quickly stepping closer to me. I noticed bruises and cuts along her face, arms and legs.

My face fell, noticing how real this was.

"She tortures me," she shook her head. "She calls herself a yandere."

"Yan-der-aye?" I tried to pronounce it. "What does that even mean?"

"I.." She began, her face turning to a worried expression. "Never mind. But she wants Aphmau dead. She could be trying to murder her right now, for all I know."

"What's her first class?" I ask, my heart slamming against my chest.

"French." She stated simply. "With Madame Iona."

I slapped my forehead. "Damnit! Aphmau is in that class!"

"Is she alone?" Azura perked up. "Ivy has her ways of.. doing things. She can distract and make Aphmau fall of the face of the earth like nothing happened."

"No," I shook my head. "Dante's in the class with her."

"Phew," she sighed. She looked at the time. "Oh, God. This is going to be so hard to ask."

  "Ask what?"

"Ivy wants proof I was following you.. And if she doesn't get it, I.." She swallowed. "I don't know what will happen to me."

  "And?" I asked.

"Can I take pictures?" She winced. "I don't feel like getting beaten tonight."

"Ok..ay," I said slowly. She ran behind and I slowly started walking, letting her take a few pictures.

"Thank you so much," she sighed, walking back to me. "You just saved me from so much."

  "You're welcome," I said.

"I know you're probably not trusting me right now," she said. "But I honestly don't want to be with Ivy. I want to help you."

"I have no idea what happening," I shook my head. "But.. I trust you. I don't think you'd be that crazy to lie about this."

"Oh, thank you so much," she let out a relived breath. "I was scared you'd think I was doing this for her. I hate her. And I'm trapped."

"I'm sorry," I said. "I have to get to class."

  "Yeah." She smiled. "B..bye."

   I didn't say anything back.

I passed the corner, pulling my phone out.

Me: Aph, you have to get as far away as you can from Ivy

Aph <3 : you okay? First period is over. do you need to talk?

  Me: where are you??

Aph <3: right outside the cafeteria with Dante. babe, are you okay?

  Me: be right there.

I shut off my phone, seeing Aphmau and Dante when I got to the cafeteria. Aphmau stared worryingly at her phone, while Dante was talking.

I let out a breath of relief, beginning to walk over to her.

She looked up, smiling at me. It was a 'you-are-worrying-me' smile.

"Hey," she smiled when I wrapped my arms around her. "Are you alright?"

"I'm.. Fine." I shook my head. "Just please stay by someone you know today, okay? Preferably me."

"What?" She asked, pulling back. "What are you talking about?"

I had a loss for words. I didn't want to scare her. She probably didn't know yet.

"Garroth, what is going on?" Her arms dropped from me. "You're acting weird."

"I can't tell you."

"Oh, really?" She raised an eyebrow. "You can't tell me?"

"I just.. can't."

"Hmph." She stared at me. "I'm your girlfriend. You are supposed to tell me. And even in you don't, I'll find out anyway." She leaned closer to my ear. "Girls always find out."

"Aphmau, come on." I groaned. "I just can't tell you. I don't want to worry you."

"I'm worried enough with you keeping secrets," she shot back. Dante looked back at us, raising his eyebrows, then turned back to Nicole.

"I think they're having their first fight," I could hear Dante whisper. "Oh, God, these are so good."

I rolled my eyes. "Aphmau, it's a big deal. And when I say big deal, I mean big deal."

"And when I say you're overreacting," she crossed her arms. "You're overreacting. Man up and tell me, or else."

"Aphmau," I argued. She was actually making me frustrated. "No."

She flipped her hair, scoffing at me. "Fine. I'll see you back at the dorm, then."

I sighed, my senses coming back to me. I shouldn't have even texted her.

"Look, I'm sorry." I shook my head, grabbing her hand. "Please at least meet me for lunch?"

"Mm, change of plans." She bit her lip, pretending to think. "I'm going somewhere with Dante."

"What? We are?" Dante asked. Aphmau shot him a glare. "I mean, what? We are! For sure!"

The 8:15 AM bell rang.

"That's my cue." She said flatly, shaking my hand off. "If you're not going to trust me, don't talk to me until you can."

She then turned on her heel, sashaying away.

"That's how you know you messed up," Dante sang, making Nicole laugh.

"Shut up." I groaned, pinching the bridge of my nose.

Damn. If this was love, it was sure tough.
