Chapter Twenty Nine

We were called for lunch so we changed our clothes from our rooms, get downstairs and walk to the dining room. We were having a boys conversation when we saw Ace appear on the dining area. We didn't know she's already downstairs I thought she was on her room.

"Where have you been?" Red asked, curious.

"Giving your grandma a hand?" She shrugged unsure what to answer.

"Wait what?" We almost yelped on unison.

Before she can answer Grandma appeared from the kitchen holding a pot and put that on the table.

"Time to eat now boys. There's the bowl." She pointed. I know what bowl is she talking about. She always have a bowl near the dining table where we must put our phones or gadgets so no one will be distracted when we eat. She's strict as hell remember. Try to have a phone when you eat and I'll assure you you'll never do it again. We put our phones on the bowl one by one. Good thing I'm not into texting anymore. I just don't know the other boys especially Kalvin.

We settled ourselves on the long table with confused reactions.

"How about you young lady? Don't you know the protocol?" Grandma said.

I'm sure we all held our breathe. Simon even widened his eyes to Ace signalling her to put that fucking phone on that bowl. Oh damn it..

"Oh.. Sorry ma'am but I don't use phone. Its on my bag actually." She sheepishly replied.

We sighed. Yes.. As in with choreography and that audible.

"What are you sighing boys. Chris.. Do the honor." Grandma commanded.

So Chris.. Not having any choice recited the prayer. Good thing because he still remember the prayer.

"Amen." We all said in chorus.

We started eating and we all kept silent. Grandma doesn't want us to speak when our mouth is full. When she ask a question you must answer but you need to chew and swallow it first.

"What are you into young lady? What do you study?" We all look on Ace praying that she knows what to do or how to answer. I glance at her and I mouthened "Make it good". I think she get it and then look back to Grandma.

"I study Bachelor in Science in Accountancy ma'am." She answered. Oh heavens.. Good one because she just answered what is ask. Other girls will be now blabbering about their stuffs and everything.

"How did you get to know my boys?" She asked. I know this is really what bugs her. The last girl Kalvin brought into this house was traumatized I guess. After that she broke up with Kalvin and said awful things about her. Our Grandma actually killed her with her words.

"Red's my classmate ma'am and so happens he introduced me to his brothers." She replied and bit her bottom lip. I know we felt intense now aside from Grandma.

A moment of silence..

"I didn't know you boys are into this girl. Since when?" She scrutinized all of our faces reading our minds. We're all gonna be screwed up if she happens to know that we're up to something with Ace.

"I'm with her for three years Grandma and the boys just met her 6 weeks ago." Its Red who answered.

"Three years? Are you together with this lady Red?" She raised her eyebrows at him.

Ace was about to open her mouth and tell her the truth but I ever so lightly shook my head gesturing her not to talk. So she shut her mouth and wait for Red to answer.
