The morning was light as we all gathered on the front lawn to make sure points for our plan on Ace's birthday. Last night was.. tough. Just for me I guess. Can you believe I just blurt that out to her? I swear, she's all over my head and it became constant and constant as the days passed by.
It's like a kid growing up so fast..
And I couldn't do anything to stop that because who on this earth don't grow up? Well, even kids with Progeria do-though they don't look like one but their body system is like a 60 year old. Clap for me, I just mentioned something about science.
"Are all set? Do we have to go back to the market for anything?" Kalvin popped me out from my thoughts.
"No. It's all fine and perfect. I just don't know how Grandma's doing with her." We have decided that Grandma will be in charge for Ace. She needs to get distracted so we can prepare. Well, we did our best to make it at least not so overwhelming and grandeur for her. What we planned was something simple, special and sentimental I guess.
Damn it. I'm a fucking girl.
"Have you phoned Maxie?" Red asked.
"No. It's.. I don't know her."
I grinned.
Oh baby. I didn't know you're possessive.
"Yeah. Been expecting him in a few moments." I answered avoiding myself from grinning.
We thought we can get some help from them. Apparently, Ace doesn't know about guests but I hope she'll be fine with that. Aside from my brothers I trust them so much so I'm pretty sure Ace can get along well with them. Besides, they won't be long here with Grandma so Ace doesn't need to worry about too much people in this house.
Just as we finished the birthday plan we walk back inside and wait for the lunch to get done so we can eat now. We were watching live football game when Ace came out from the kitchen with that loose and a bit thin layered sheet of fabric white plain shirt. The shirt was baggy that the sleeves ended up a few inches above her elbow showing her bare soft arms. Down was a pair of dark black jeans that was tight showcasing her blessed curves.
Damned those clothes.
It was simple but then I realized this is the first time I saw her wear a white shirt-and a thin layered fabric one?- and that so tight jeans. I was there sitting on the couch my limbs crossed, my right elbow embedded on the arms of the couch while I pressed hard with my keys. I need something to hold hard on to or I'll stride over her and keep her away from anybody's eyes. Damn it, she's for my eyes only.
There she was busy fixing the table, her hair tied in that signature messy bun she always had, some loose strands of her hair fall prettily on her face as she moves so comfortable. Then I just wanted to tucked that hair behind her ear so I can see her angel face.
I couldn't take off my eyes away from her. I was staring at her every move intently pushing that big lump on my throat. Then she slowly turned her head to me and smiled.
The world stopped. It fucking stopped I swear.
Before I knew it I'm already walking passed my brothers and forward to Ace just like she cast a spell when she smiled at me. It was small and almost tentative but it was there.
