His Bet

Chapter Thirty Three

As the sun goes down we all decided to go back. Their grandma will worry if we didn't get back till night so we are now on the truck driving back home. We were sitting on the open back as we watch the sunset. It just look more beautiful here than the city because its open wide and will not be blocked by the buildings. I can't deny that this day is tiresome yet memorable and happy. I forgot the last time I laughed so much and had fun like this. Maybe the boys are right. I wouldn't regret coming here with them and besides I started to know their grandma more as the days passed by. She's thoughtful in her own way. She knows when to joke around or designate orders for her grandsons. It almost ache my heart by that thought because at least.. They had a good life when they grew up. This six boys done so much with each other that makes it memorable. I envy everything about them. I wish I hadn't a tough one.

"Hey Acy? You alright?" Red asked pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Oh yeah.. Of course just.. Thinking." I said then look down at my hands.

"Are we right that its fun here?" He smiled budging me to admit they're right.

I let a lopsided grin. "Okay okay you win." And held my hands mid high for surrender.

After 30 mins ride we finally parked on the front yard as the boys started to jump off the truck. Another hard time jumping in and off but at least this will be the last for this day.

"C'mmon get down here." Brix again gestured me to get down. He said that just like its been part of our routine and system. He literally did this earlier for 5 times every time we stop by. I can also think he's getting use to my weight but me still can't get used to his touch. I came near the edge of the truck as Red caught my eyes staring at us. I stare back at him and he gave me a sad smile? Before I can even think what does it mean Brix hold my waist again and get me down to this stupid high truck. I back off  from him and smoothened down my shirt. They headed through the door so I followed them.

They told their grandma what happened earlier as we eat dinner they didn't even slip the Ace-speak-chinese-and-its-awesome topic. I just hope their grandma won't ask about it. She complimented me for that so I just reply a shy thank you and eat silently. We finished dinner and do our cleaning routine. I was also given the task to help waxing the floor so it can be done quickly. I'm grateful for that because at least now I don't feel like I can't do anything to help. We settle on the living room and watched a movie. The old lady told us to shut the TV and then we should go to sleep because we have another line of activities for tomorrow. We all said yes in chorus as she gone upstairs.

After a few moments the movie ended. They decided to sleep early because this day is tiresome and we should gotta get some rest. For other people, night sleep is the best part after a tiresome day while me, I don't find it fancy. Night sleep means another night terror, another memory, another scream, another pain and another everything ugly. I didn't know I let out an audible sigh when Red gestured me to lay down. They turned the lights off as the room fall into darkness. I just look at the blackness that consumed this room. I need to take a sleep at least but I can't be here. I think I should go down to the maid's room and just get back early in the morning so no one will notice but I should let them fall asleep first. I know I just lay down there for almost an hour when I felt someone touch my arm. I almost shout because of shock but he managed to cup my mouth before everyone can hear it. My breathe become rugged and I feel restrained because he's cupping my mouth. Panick is starting to rise on me when I hear this man talk.

"Kitty its me. I'm sorry I scare you. We need to get down now. I know you're not sleeping right here." Brix whispered through the dark. I felt a bit relieved when I know its Brix not him. I couldn't form the words so I just nod eagerly. He guided me off the bed and walk me outside the room.
