We're almost done putting touch ups to our plan for my girl's birthday party when ma entered in the living room and asked what made us busy.

My girl..

It sounded right.

"It's buttercup's birthday in two days ma. And we're planning to do something for her." Kalvin politely answered with a smile.

"The young lady really wiggled her life inside yours without her knowing, ain't she? Tell me sons, what has she done for you to be like that to her? Well, I'm not saying I don't like it but, this is new." She commented as she sat on the single couch on the center.

We all stared at each other.

Silence.

"She's the long lost baby sister we've been asking for years ma. Remember how we like to have one." Tristan humored the dead air that past between us a while ago.

Well, partly he's true about Ace being our long lost baby sister. Heck, I'm out of it. I don't want to be just her big brother.

"Hmm is that thing goes the same with Brix and Red?" Grandma laughed.

Red and I grinned.

"Ma really knows stuffs, ain't she?" Simon joked.

"Yes of course, you boys are my sons. How could I not know when one of you is whipped." She laughed with those blue eyes twinkling with humour. Then I just realized it has been a while since I heard grandma laughed like this.

"But you're not fighting just because of a girl boys huh. Or you'll be all screwed. I got nothing to do about what you feel about Ace but you should respect each other. You know I don't like it when you are in trouble. Is it clear Brix?" She warned so I answered politely.

"Yes ma, we're on it." I smiled.

"How about you Red?" Grandma turned to him.

"Same here ma. No brother fights." He raised his hands mid high for surrender.

"So how about the birthday party for her? What can I help to make the young lady's day special?" Ma returned back the initial topic swiftly.

"No worries ma. We have it all planned. You can just bake a cake for her." Chris offered.

"Is that it? Anything else aside from that?"

"Can you make her wear a dress ma?" Simon light up all of us when he voice out this idea.

"What?" We all said in chorus.

"What? Isn't she supposed to wear something nice on her birthday?" Simon reasoned out his hands outstretched in a dramatic manner.

Ace wearing a dress..

I wonder what would she look like if she wore one. I think I would love to see her wear a dress especially if it is black. Black is her color I guess. I never thought she can make black fancy for me. Black looked mourning, grief and dull but with her it looked like something deep. Depth, pit of her darkness as she glows with her angel light. Her skin is like an angel's. An angel with black and broken wings. Heck, I'm going to fix those wings so she could fly free again. I will set her free.

And since when I became a poet?

Damn it. I don't know where all of this is coming from.

"I think there's no way it's gonna happen bro." Chris commented that snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Why not? She's a girl sons. Believe me, she's a girl at heart." Ma said confidently. Yeah, I agree. How she feel embarrassed and shy towards me when I show her how much I care. She's a soft hearted girl I know it. She's just scared and trying to guard herself up. There's nothing wrong about that. She has the right to doubt any person she's not comfortable with. That what makes her Ace. So confusing, so innocent, vulnerable yet tough, hard and sweet.
