XXIII: Betrayal

I made it out of that trap of Kabuto's thanks to the big guy's help. And then I had killed him right after.

I guess I do have some of my merciless ways inside me still kicking after all.

But now here I am, just entering an area on the three tail's lake enveloped by smoke.

Fire.

I could feel it through the heavy smoke screen. Since I couldn't see a thing, I had to rely on other senses to feel him out.

Nothing could block out my ability of feeling out anyone's chakra.

Or maybe I could be using Shiroryuu's power and I didn't even know it.

Kakashi Sensei, a Jonin of the Leaf was burning by this enemy's power.

Power that this smoke user was not supposed to have.

"Binding Smoke Prison!"

I made my way stealthily through the smoke, making sure to hide all evidence of my chakra.

"To think that I would have the honor to personally bring down the famous Kakashi of the Hidden Leaf."

"It's worth surviving..."

There was a loud poof, as I assumed Kakashi had disappeared from the smoke user's sight.

I heard the smoke user gasp as Kakashi spoke again.

"Although not to your extent, I use Shadow Clones too."

My eyes widened when I saw chidori form in his hand.

So he was the one who taught that to Sasuke.

Kakashi raised his hand, about to strike the smoke user with his chidori.

I appeared in front of him and gripped his wrist, tightening my grip on it so his chidori dispersed.

I watched as his eye widened in shock. I brought my free hand to my face, muttering out "Wind Chakra: Disperse", wind radiating off of my body and clearing the smoke away.

Hmm. I should have done that from the start.

"L-lady Miyako!!" The smoke guy gasped out.

But I kept my gaze fixated on Kakashi's.

"Hmph. Kakashi, you have ma-"

I snapped my head to the smoke guys face, equipping my fear inducement jutsu as his eyes widened, standing there petrified in horror. His body begun to tremble as he collapsed onto his knees, before falling on his face.

I turned my eyes back to Kakashi as his eyes wore a confused glint.

"Miyako?"

I gave him a small smile before releasing his wrist.

"Nice to see you again, Kakashi sensei. But I'm afraid I'm going to have to take this burden away from you."

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

But his eyes gradually widened as he noticed the snake rope wound around my waist.

"So. You're with Orochimaru."

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"No."

His eye narrowed in a leery way.

"Then why-"

"I may have been part of Team Orochimaru before, but the circumstances are different now." I said as I turned on my heel, performing a few hand signs as I summoned a water clone.
