XXXXVII: Jugo's Rage

A scream.

It was very far away, but I could just barely hear it.

Jugo placed his hand on my shoulder.

"We can't." He warned me.

"Why not?"

"It could be a trap."

"Ive hidden our chakra so that no one senses us. It's fine, Jugo." I assured him.

"I'm sorry my lady, but I only agreed to take you outside for fresh air. And besides, we've strayed far off the path now.."

"If it's the Akatsuki you're worried about, don't worry. Pain will find me if those sick monsters need me back. Just please, Jugo. Lets at least see what's going on. I promise I won't interfere." I begged him, batting my eyelids at him.

He finally gave in after glaring down at me moments later with a frustrated sigh, releasing his hand from my soldier.

The ground suddenly crumbled as the tops of trees disappeared from my sight. We had just arrived at the scene where I sensed the scream, and then followed a unique chakra to here.

And here we were, staying low, just as a purple barrier formed around someone on the ground.

Jugo wrapped his hand around my wrist, keeping me from jumping towards this trap.

"No." He strictly warned.

"He's in trouble."

"We're going to be in trouble if we don't get out of here. And with all due respect, my lady, since when do you care about the lives of others?"

"Since I met you guys." I snapped at him.

Jugo's eyes widened in shock. I took that moment to pin him against the tree, using my Earth style jutsu to keep him entrapped there.

I would have said anything to distract him. And that was the first thing that came to mind. I quickly summoned a shadow clone, leaving my true form in front of Jugo.

I jumped to the ground, using my disappearing act to absorb myself into the earth, rushing towards this strange boy.

The second I appeared in front of him from the ground, the barrier begun to glow, as his light brown eyes widened in shock at the sight of me.

I grabbed his wrist, not giving him time to react before the barrier exploded around us.

I used my transportation jutsu last second, transporting the boy and my clone to my location as the barrier erupted.

I grabbed Jugo as the branches that kept him pinned on the tree retracted, holding each guy in each palm as I used my transformation jutsu to get us out of there.

"What were you thinking? Anyone could have detected us back there!" Jugo screamed at me.

I'd never seen this angry side of him, and it was pretty intimidating. I mean, I guess it makes sense since he's so calm all the time. A guy's gotta explode at some point.

"Calm down." I told him in a calm voice.

But his eyes just filled with even more rage than before.

"You almost got yourself killed!" He roared, the trees and ground around us shaking.

"Shut him up." The boy I saved said from behind me. I turned back to glare at him, as he relaxed against a tree, his single light brown eye watching me.
