Elizabeth
The boy looks at me with wide eyes, keeping all of his hope into my hands. Amber speaks but I barely hear her as I watch the boy begin the struggle against the soldier holding onto him. As I am about to scream for the little boy to stop the gun goes off, the boy's head being blast open. The world rings as the boy's body falls to the ground. I open my mouth to scream but don't hear anything come out, not truly knowing if I am screaming or not.
James flies past me, killing the soldier who stole the little boy's life. As the soldier falls, the helmet covering his face comes off. My eyes widen as I look into the dead soldier's eyes, no older than fifteen. Fighting begins as Aya helps me stand up, leading me down the hallway. I stare at the floor as Aya helps me walk, a trail of blood leading down the hallway.
As Aya and I get outside the building we begin to move with the others, James not present with us. We continue to move down the alleyway, soldiers in the distance. Shouting rings in my ears as people with yellow symbols lead us swiftly towards a building.
The blinding lights of the building halls force me to shut my eyes, no strength to lift my hands up. I am taken away from the others to a special room as the doctors had said. The rest of the day drags on without anyone to talk to, something shaking the ground violently. There are still people shouting and running past my special room, saying something about an invasion. No one bothers to stop by my room, the siren's chorus making me want to pull my hair out.
"Elizabeth?" I look up at a tall, burly, nurse. She looks at me then back to the notepad before nodding to herself and stepping inside. I stay silent as she shuts the door and pulls out a needle. The nurse moves swiftly towards me, pushing me down with one hand and injecting the needle into my arm with the other. In seconds the world begins to cloud over, spinning rapidly.
"Don't worry Elizabeth. We are just going to run some... tests on you." I don't know when the other doctor entered the room but he grips my hand tightly as another needle is injected into my arm, a curtain slamming the rest of the world out.

I sit by Kali's bed, watching over her closely. Liz may have been injured more seriously but I care about Kali more. She and I have grown very close over the past couple of days, some would say we're in love.
"Is she awake yet?" I turn around and shake my head at Aya.
"Not yet. The doctors said they're doing everything they can at the moment. How is Liz?" Aya runs her hand through her hair, letting out a shaky breathe.
"I don't know. The doctors here don't want me seeing her since she was close with 'Lord Nightlock.' They probably think that we're working for the Nightlock Empire." I nod and frown as I look back to Kali.
"They should know Kali and I are with the AOO so maybe I'll be able to see her." Aya nods as we switch positions, Aya now sitting in my seat. "I will be back as soon as possible to tell you how Liz is doing. Don't leave Kali alone." Aya nods and holds Kali's hand as I leave the room, searching for the nearest doctor. I finally find one, a burly nurse with an empty syringe in her hand.
"Yes?" Her deep voice almost makes me jump.
"I am looking for a girl named Elizabeth Lyrane?" The nurse looks at me closely.
"Was that a question?" I rub the back of my head in embarrassment.
"No, it's just that I don't really know her last name." The nurse nods before looking at the notepad in her hand.
