Thirty Minutes Ago

James

"I thought you'd show up here." Katherine motions for me to sit down as she closes a file on her desk. I move towards the chair and stop behind it, not getting any closer to her. "So your girlfriend saved you after I talked to her, just as you planned it seems." My hands tighten on the back of the chair as she speaks. "Sorry I had to torture you though, you did deserve it and it helped with your plan."

"She doesn't get hurt got it?" Katherine nods, smiling as she stands up.

"The NE and the AOO are one now James. Be happy that you destroyed the AOO without them realizing it." I continue to stare at the wall as Katherine moves behind me, my body tensing up. "I am surprised you decided to join forces though, what made you decide?"

"I don't have to tell you why." Katherine lets out a laugh before moving back behind her desk.

"I suppose you don't James. What will she say when she finds out though?" The chair slams against the wall as I move towards her, slamming my hands on the desk and breaking it into two.

"She won't know about it until I tell her. Got it?" Katherine nods, her smile still on her face. A knock comes from the door, Katherine looking behind me before bringing her gaze back to me.

"Come in." I don't move, my eyes still trained on Katherine as the door opens. "Hi Samantha and Noah. Nice of you two to join us." I growl and turn around, Noah stepping in front of Samantha.

"Noah stop it. I can take care of myself." He nods as Samantha moves up next to him, Noah not letting her move in front of him. "Hi James." She smiles, the burn marks making it seem distorted and fake. "See I would love to kill Elizabeth but I assume that after what Noah told me, I won't be able to." She looks past me and nods, Katherine confirming what Noah told her. "What a pity. I really did want to kill her, she locked me up in that damn cell after Plava bite the dust." Samantha barely has time to scream as I slam her into the wall, my hand clenched around her throat. Noah moves to attack me when Katherine shouts for him to stand still, Noah looking fiercely between Samantha and Katherine.

"Don't you ever threaten her." Samantha nods quickly, kicking effortlessly at my chest. I throw her into Noah as I turn, frowning when Noah catches her. I am about to attack Noah when a pulse goes through the room, the ship shaking violently.

"What's going on?!" Katherine pulls out her communication device and barks status reports into it, people replying with worried tones. The sound of metal tearing fills the room, the back wall being torn away with the rest of the ship. A bright light shines through the hole, white light everywhere outside of it. Before anyone can react I throw off my jacket, my wings spreading out, and jump out into the light.

James

"I'll tell you later, I promise." I smile and hug Elizabeth, the others too nervous to speak. The room shakes slightly as we continue to descend, darkness all around us except for the dim light on the ceiling.

"Can we focus on something more pressing rather than how James got out of the AOO Savoir?" Elizabeth frowns and turns to Logan, her hands on her hips. I stay close to her, as Logan rolls his eyes and turns back to look out into the darkness.

"Do you know where we're going?" Liz looks around at the others, no one answering.

"We're going into a city, wherever the Guardian Council chose for us to go to." We turn and watch as a girl steps from the corner of the room. She smiles brightly at us, holding out her hand to us. "I'm Julie, nice to meet you team." Julie and Xileth share a look as the rest of us nod, each of us greeting her and giving our names before continuing to stand in silence. The other groups of people in the room whisper to each other, ours the only one not currently huddled up. Julie claps her hands together and motions for us to come near her, rolling her eyes when we don't move. "Come on team! We need to plan, be mysterious ya know?"
