"Got any leads?" Two more soldiers fall as I continue down the street.

"Not yet, I think we're close though." I nod to myself, shooting three more soldiers. Gunshots come through the device, Liz cursing before firing back.

"You okay Liz?" I quickly dive into an alley, an explosion shaking the ground. Gunshots echo down the street and through the device. I quickly reload the Nightfall before turning out of the alley and shooting the four soldiers running down the street. "Liz?" I continue down the street, jumping over a crater covered in blood.

"I'm here Kali." I relax when I hear her voice. "Kali?" I crouch down, trying to see through the smoke.

"Yeah?" Running into the smoke I hold my breath, the gun aimed forward.

"Are you really going to go through with it?" A scream pierces through the smoke, gunshots following after it.

"I don't have a choice Liz." A soldier runs through the smoke, his helmet gone and blood flowing down his face. Before he can get closer to me something pulls him deeper into the smoke, his screams echoing around me before stopping abruptly.

1 Hour Before

Kali

"How about Logan?" I scream as Logan appears next to Amanda, chains appearing and holding him against the wall.

"No! Do not touch him!" I push myself up, grabbing the knife tightly. "I will kill you if you hurt him." Amanda flicks her wrist, the knife disappearing and lets out a short laugh.

"Calm down Kali, I am not going to hurt him." Tears run down my face as I look from Logan to Amanda. Liz slowly moves up next to me, keeping her eyes on Amanda. "Of course I will only keep him in one piece if I get something out of it." I dig my nails into my skin, my knuckles turning white.

"What do you want?" The grin on Amanda's face grows.

"I want you to get me Zoey and Xileth-wait never mind just kill Zoey for me."

"We're not going to kill Zoey you sick-" I cut off Liz quickly.

"I'll do it." Liz turns to me with wide eyes.

"Kali you can't mean that! Zoey is ten years old!" I ignore her and walk closer to Amanda.

"I will kill Zoey for you if you keep Logan safe."

"You got yourself a deal Ms. Lane!" Amanda claps her hands together, Nightfall rifles appearing on the floor in front of Liz and I. "Now off you two go! It is a search and destroy mission!" Her laugh echoes down the hallway as Liz and I walk towards the steps. We leave the building through the large hole in the medal plating, almost cutting myself on it.

"If we split up we have more of a chance to find them." Liz nods at me, turning down another road while I continue forward. AOO Lancasters fly overhead, buildings exploding as missiles fly into them.

Kali walks slowly towards the smoke, flames still coming out of the debris. I hide myself under the window as Kali walks past, focused on what is ahead of her. I can't let her kill Zoey, she doesn't deserve to die at ten.
