19 • Trust Always Dies

"Just give him some time Logan." I sigh and turn to Kali.

"What was wrong with him though? He walked right out of here and didn't look too happy."

"It isn't your business Logan." I roll my eyes as Liz glares at me before she leaves the room.

"Okay we'll need to find weapons and that means we need to find a police department or a gun shop." Julie looks out the window, scanning the area below.

"I'll go and find one, we need to get the supplies and I know how to fight." Julie turns and nods at me before turning to Xileth.

"Xileth should go as well then." Xileth shakes his head and takes off his sword.

"We have a weapon, there is no reason for me to leave my Nii-san." Julie smiles but shakes her head.

"No Xileth, you need to go out and help find weapons." Xileth is about to speak up but Julie holds her hand out to silence him. "We will keep her safe, no one can hurt people in the safe zones so she will be completely safe."

"I'll be okay Onii-chan." Zoey smiles up at Xileth, Xileth shaking his head before turning to face me.

"Fine. I will go with Logan." Julie nods before turning to face me.

"Okay, don't try to kill too many of them or draw too much attention to your position. The other teams and the AOO will be drawn to fighting so stay low."

"I'll meet you downstairs." Xileth hugs Zoey tightly before picking up his sheathed sword and walking downstairs. I turn to Kali and smile before hugging her.

"Be safe."

"I always am." Kali nods slowly before smiling up at me. "I love you."

"I love you too." I smile and kiss Kali before walking out of the room. I take the steps down, fearing the elevator will break down and kill me. My footsteps echo down the stairwell as I make my way to the lobby. I sigh as I walk into the lobby, Xileth standing at the entrance. He doesn't say anything as I walk up next to him, continuing to look out into the crowded streets.

"Let's get this over with." Xileth walks out into the streets, people eyeing him suspiciously. I hold in a laugh as we make our way down the street, everyone moving out of the way as he walks.

"Hey! Stop right there!" A police officer runs towards us, blowing his whistle as he nears us. Xileth doesn't even turn to see the officer, breaking into a sprint as he pushes people out of the way.

"Xileth!" I run after him, the officer yells after us but becomes more and more distant. "Xileth, stop!" I grab onto his shoulder, letting out a quick shout as he turns and launches me into the air. People scream as I collide with them, Xileth's sword now drawn. Before the officer can say another word, Xileth swings his sword and cuts the officer's chest. Phone cameras are aimed at us, other people on the phone with the police as I pull Xileth through the crowd. He finally sheathes his sword as we turn down an alley and hide behind a dumpster. "What the hell was that?"

"The officer was going to hinder our plan of finding weapons so I disposed of him." I sigh and lean against the wall, regaining my breath.

"You do realize that all the police will be looking for us now right?"

"Of course I do. Now that the police will be looking for us that means others will have to limit their attacks on us. The police will be more frequent on the streets and we will be safer once we change how we look."

"Oh..." Xileth nods at me, a triumphant look in his eyes. "That is actually a good idea but how do we get weapons?"

"I'll help you get weapons." I turn quickly, Noah stepping down the alley as people continue to go down the sidewalks behind him. Xileth draws his sword, stepping forward and aiming it towards Noah.
