Chapter 39❤ "Push Her Away"

*Luke's P.O.V*

"Luke, go easy on Dana. And please hear her out" Elliniese told me as soon as she found out that Dana is texting me.

"I dont want to hear another lie" I told her as I sat beside her hospital bed. She's still not okay. The results on her medical examination will be out tomorrow.

"Luke, do you seriously think she'll lie to you? She's been your bestfriend since you're a kid. And she isnt the type of girl who lies to someone special to her" she hold my hand "Please, hear her out. Just for me"

I thought about it for a moment. Elliniese is right. Dana and I need to talk.

I replied to Dana's text message.

"Fine. I'll talk to her" I told Ell.

"Thank you, Luke. Listen to her" she smiled.

"Why does it seem that you're on her side?" I asked. She just smiled at me.

"I'll meet her later at the cafe near the neighborhood" I told Elliniese. "You go ahead and sleep here okay? Take a rest. Its good for you"

She nodded "Luke, just be true to yourself. I know deep inside you that you love Dana more than a friend. Just admit it. Its pretty obvious. You just feel attracted to me, but you dont love me" she said and it left me thinking.

Its true. Im just scared to admit it.

"I dont know, Ell. Im not ready to tell her yet. After what I did to her"

"That is why you need to talk to her. Fix everything. Before its too late" she smiled "Go now. Talk to her already"

I nodded before getting my stuff and head to the door.

"And Luke, she didnt push me. I blacked out that's why I fell. Im too heavy for her to carry"

All this time. Im blaming Dana for something she didnt do. God, im so terrible!

I saw Dana sitting on a table next to the cafe door. I missed her.

Should I admit my feelings already?

No, im scared that i'll hurt her again. I cant stand to see her hurt because of me. Might as well keep this feelings for me.

"Luke" she said as soon as I sat infront of her. I have to act that im still mad at her. If this is the easiest way to stop her feelings for me. Because whatever she's feeling towards me are always causing her to get hurt.

I have to push her away from me. I have to act that im still mad.

"How is Elliniese?" She asked. Concern covering her eyes.

"The result will be out tomorrow. So we dont know yet" I said, kinda coldly.

"Im sorry" she looked down.

No, no Dana. Its not your fault. Dont blame yourself.

"So lets start this" I said.

"Luke, Ell told me everything" she started "I know the truth now"

"How so? What if she's lying to you? You just dont believe someone that easily, Dana" I said.

"I-i know" sadness is visible in her eyes. I looked away. I cant look at her while she looks like that. "There's something in me that says that she's not lying. And she also told me that you love me"

"She's lying" She isnt. I have to force my self not to say that. I bit my lip and wet it with my tongue.

"O-okay" I saw a tear on her eyes.

Damn. Dont cry. Im doing this so you wont get hurt because of me anymore. Im not good for you. I always end up hurting you.
