I Ran Away

Hello Alvin

     I woke up the next day to toothless growling at me, i looked over at him and he gave me a gummy smile and blew in my face. "eww toothless! that's disgusting!" i almost yelled i heard someone stir next to and i remembered Astrid was here, i looked over and she turned around "sorry m'lady." i said to her and she just grinned "it's okay i need to get up anyways. wait why did you yell anyways?" she asked me, i looked over to my giddy dragon and pointed at him "dragon breath." Astrid just looked at me and laughed, then i realized why he's so giddy, it's my 22nd birthday. i looked at Astrid " by the way Happy Birthday." i smiled at her, but that's when i heard laughing downstairs, I jumped out of bed and ran to my bedroom door and shut it pushing my desk up to the door. "uh Hiccup, what are you doing?" Astrid asked i looked at her while sitting heavy stuff on my desk and said "my mom has this tradition that every year on my birthday she pours a barrel of water on me. apparently her parents did it to her and her brother as well and she wanted to keep the tradition going." Astrid laughed, that when we heard a knock on my door "Hiccup are you awake? you're suppose to be scouting the island this morning." my mother said i heard my dad snicker "i can hear your snickering and i know you have that barrel of water out there and i'm not going to scout if i'm freezing." i said back i heard my mom sigh and heard my dad's footsteps walk away. "fine we'll get you when you get back." she said i move the desk back to where it was and saw my mom there with no barrel. i looked back at Astrid and she was snickering. " what are you snickering about?" i asked her. she shook her head and walked out in front of me with mom i looked around for dad and he came back out of my mother's room, and i relaxed "alright toothless let's go. Astrid would you like to come with?" i asked her as i was headed towards the door she nodded and walked with me since her dragon was still healing, so she had to fly with me. we left through the winding tunnels. once we were out we got on toothless and took off to the sky.

     we have been scouting for about an hour and were about to head back when we see ships with the outcast crest on the sail. "enemy?" Astrid asked me i shook my head to tell her no. "friends?" she asked a bit shocked and i nodded we landed on the main ship and dismounted toothless. I stood there with Astrid at my side and walked up to Alvin. "Hello Alvin. long time." i greeted he nodded "it sure has Dragon Master. who's this?" he asked " this is Astrid, one of Berk's finest warriors." i introduced her. "so Berkians are already here huh?" i looked at Alvin and gave him a warning look "we have a deal Alvin remember?" he nodded i could feel Astrid behind me looking over my shoulder. Alvin might be friends with me but hes is not friends with my father, and that worries me a bit. "Well, shall we tell my men where to set up camp and weapons?" Alvin asked, I nodded "Berkians are taking the north and east side so I would like to to take the south and west. Set up camp in the nearest caves always keep scouts out, keep the weapons to where they are hidden but also able to get a good aim, I'll have someone check in every morning and every evening." I told him, Alvin nodded he turned and started yelling orders, I turned to toothless and Astrid "your friends with him?" Astrid asked a little surprised. "we had our differences, but in the end we became allies because we have a lot in common and the same enemy's, well besides Berk." I explained I mounted toothless and held out my hand to help her on. "What do you say we go see how Stormflys doing?" At the mention of her dragon she lit up so that's where we headed.
