We finally returned to Berk a couple weeks ago, Asta was fast asleep in Astrid's arms as we walked around Berk. For once it was actually a peaceful day, the Villagers were doing their own jobs and my parents were doing theirs, so Astrid and I just got to relax and be with each other and Asta today. Asta is getting a lot more comfortable with calling Astrid mom and Astrid is starting to get use to the name. I bet you're wondering, have I proposed to Astrid yet? the answer is no, I haven't found the right time to ask her so, for now, I'm just walking around with the ring in my suit. I heard a little groan causing me to look over at Asta "Daddy? Mommy?" she asked groggily, "Hi sweetheart, we're still walking around." I told her, she lifted her head up, "Can I go play with my friends?" Asta pointed, causing Astrid to look, not far ahead of us was a group of Asta's friends that she had made playing with each other, "Of course you can." Astrid put Asta down, we both watched her take off towards her the little group. I grabbed Astrid's hand and continued to walk, we walked all the way to the cliff side of Berk where it was empty for the time being. Astrid let go of my hand and walked toward the edge of the cliff, I just watched her as she admired the water below. I caught myself falling in love with her again like it was the first time, this is it, this is perfect. I started to whistle, remembering the way dad had done for mom.
"I'll swim and sail on savage seas,
With never a fear of drowning
And gladly ride the waves of life,
If you would marry me,"
Astrid didn't move a muscle, which made me freak a little. I continued to move closer to her and continued,
"No scorching sun, nor freezing cold,
Will stop me on my journey,
If you will promise me your heart,
and love," I looked at Astrid, cupping my hand around her cheek turning her head towards me,
A- "and love me for eternity,
my dearest one, my darling dear,
Your mighty words astound me,
But I've no need for mighty deeds
When I feel your arms around me, "
Astrid took my hands and began to dance with me,
H- "But I would bring you rings of gold
I'd even sing you poetry
And I would keep you from all harm,
If you would stay beside me"
A- "I have no use for rings of gold,
I care not for your poetry,
I only want your hand to hold,"
H- "I only want you near me,"
A&H- "To love and kiss to sweetly hold,
For the dancing and the dreaming,
Through all life's sorrows and delights,
I'll keep your laugh inside me,
I'll swim and sail on savage seas,
With never a fear of drowning,
I'd gladly ride the waves of life,
if you will marry me!"
Astrid and I finished singing, she laughed as I spun her around one last time quickly pulling the box out of my uniform, opening it.

I kneeled down on my good leg, when she turned around, shock crossed her face then the look of joy and excitement.
"Astrid Hofferson, Will you Marry me?" I asked her, a big smile broke out on her face
"Yes! a thousand times yes!" She tackled me in a big bear hug which, of course, knocked the air out of me. After a while, she let go and helped me up and I placed the beautiful ring on her finger,
"It's Beautiful Hiccup!" she admired the ring for a bit,
"I made it my self, it's a little different than..."
"It's perfect." Astrid had cut me off causing me to smile. I grabbed her hand, we had an announcement to make.
We walked up to the great hall, assuming that's where my family was, I looked out of the corner of my eye to see Astrid smiling at her ring.
"It's gonna look the same for a long time, Astrid." I laughed at her, she rolled her eyes at me causing me to laugh again, we continued to walk picking up Asta along the way to the Great Hall.
Astrid and I made it to the Great Hall with Asta and walked in to see the entire family and dragon riders there getting ready to eat lunch, we walked up to them and sat Asta down on the bench
I looked at Astrid and grinned at her, "Okay everyone I have an announcement to make!" I raised my voice over everyone, they all looked at me and waited.
I took Astrid's hand and smiled at her "Astrid and I are engaged!" the whole table filled with 'congratulations' cheering and 'Oh thank Thors,' Thraya came over and Grabbed Astrid's had to look at the ring practically drooling over it. For the rest of the day we all spent talking about the Wedding what we wanted and things like that. This is going to be a day to remember for all of us.
Hey guys, so this chapter is a lot shorter than most of my chapters but hey it's okay. Shoutout to those of you who asked me for a proposal chapter and for the person, who I can't remember who you were, that requested Hiccup and Astrid to sing 'Dancing and the Dreaming' to each other as a proposal! I'm so sorry that I don't remember who you were I tried to figure it out and remember but I couldn't. I hope you all really liked Astrid's ring, I thought it was beautiful. With that said you all have a nice rest of your day and I'll start working on the Wedding Chapter this week!
