Hiccups pov
It's been a few hours since Astrid left my family and I. Thraya seemed to be getting along with dad well and accepting her as his adopted daughter. "I can't believe I when I came to help Hiccup I'd find out my wife is alive and I get a daughter!" Dad exclaimed making us laugh, he seems to be happy in meeting me after 6 years to only find his whole family plus one more. I smiled at my family and that when I heard a knock at the door "come in" I yelled over the laughter. Astrid stepped in with a tray and gave a shy smile. "I have your lunch Hiccup." She said sweetly and stepped in setting it on the table next to my bed as she started to walk away I grabbed her wrist causing her to turn around. "Could you guys give us some time?" I asked my family they all nodded and left, I sat up very gently with help from Astrid, she then sat on the edge of the bed facing me. "Is something wrong?" She asked me. I shook my head "no, I just noticed you seemed to be shying away and I was a bit worried if something was up." I said to her, she looked down at our intertwined hands and let off a sigh. "When this is all over, are- are you coming back to Berk?" She asked turning a light shade of pink. I looked at our hands and thought for a bit "I-I don't know Astrid, maybe it all depends on, you know, the villagers i-if they want me back, that is." I answered her she nodded and looked away from our hands and at the wall., you can just see the distance and bits of hurt in her eyes. It was painful to see. "If they don't want me back Astrid I'll still love you, no matter how far apart we are" I used my free hand and turned her head to look at me and fat her the most love and affectionate look I could "and that is a promise" once I said that I gave her a smile and she gave me a small grin I moved over to the best of my abilities "come here m'lady" I said holding my arms out for her she gladly accepted and cuddled into my arms I held on to her as tight as I could without pain shooting through me and she tried her best not to make my pain worse. I love this woman to death, nothing can keep me from loving her, nothing. "So what happened at the sanctuary?" She asked me I looked down at her "way to kill the mood Astrid." I said chuckling she giggled a bit before I continued "the short version, we were badly out numbered, they managed for the sanctuary to cave in, there were a lot of deaths on our side, and many injuries." I said sadly looking at my bandaged wound. "Well I'm glade you're all alive, some injured, but alive." I nodded at what she said. I began to stroke her hair, it was beginning to come out of her braid, and that when I finally got a full look at her face, her ocean blue eyes are partly dull, she has bags under her eyes, and she's having a hard time keeping her eyes open, she looked exhausted, as if she hasn't slept in weeks, her cheeks are a bit tear stained and her eyes are a bit red and puffy. "Why does it look like you have been crying? Did something happen?" I asked her she looked up at me and shook her head "no, I'm just exhausted, sore and stressed." She said laying down with me slowly following her. "You wanna talk about it?" I asked her as she rested her head gently on my sholder "later, right now I'm desperate for some sleep." I chuckled at her statement. I rested my head against hers "we both are." And with that Astrid and I both drifted off into sleep.

Stoicks pov
After we left hiccup and Astrid I began to wonder what Hiccups secret is, of course I've thought about it once or twice, but now it's really getting to me. I saw Erit and decided to get a request "Erit! Come here a moment." I commanded. "Something I can do for you Chief Stoick?" He asked I hidden "yes, I would like you to find out what Hiccups dark secret is. The curiosity is eating at me." I said to him "your not the only one sir. I'd be glade to find out for you but can I ask why you won't just, ask?" He asked me, I sighed "being away from your son for six year can distance you both quite far." I said he nodded "understandable. I'm going to get some rest and I'll start looking into it tomorrow." She said I nodded "Thank you." And with that we both walked off to our respected huts.

Hey Dragon Riders! So I would like to thank JaninneSudjatmiko for the 'Stoick' idea, I was having a hard time trying to fit Stoick in somewhere to show his and hiccups relationship, and Janinne messaged me the idea and I knew exactly where to put it! What better place than after they have finished round one with the enamy! But anyways guys I got a job which sadly means less time to write :( but hey I get to do something I like!
