The next week of vacation was very calm. Nobody had to work, so Cal and I did different things across the city. These included visiting the beach and the fair again. The fair experience was a lot less scary and awkward with Cal there. The rest of my time was also pretty calm since Stephanie decided not to text me. I never did tell Cal about the experience I had at the fair and the diner.
It was the last full day we were staying here, and Cal acted just as stressed as he was when we came here. I had sat on the couch watching TV while Cal had ran around the hotel room to make sure we weren't forgetting anything.
"Would it kill you to help me?" Cal asked.
"Yes, considering you've packed literally everything we have," I responded. "Seriously, Cal. I still need to get clothes out of my bag tomorrow." Cal looked sheepish, but he didn't say anything.
"I just don't want to forget anything..." He took a few more minutes before he finally took a seat next to me. He looked exhausted and laid his head on top of mine in a joking way.
"Just because I'm shorter than you doesn't give you the right to use me to your advantage."
"It doesn't?" He said sarcastically before lifting his head up. "I thought you'd pity me, seeing how worn out I am."
"Take a nap." He pulled a weird face before going back to the smile he had on before.
"I can't, or else I won't sleep later." I rolled my eyes.
"Not look you'll sleep anyways." He raised an eyebrow at my response. He with a worried look on his face. "You always end up staying up late to watch TV." He let out a laugh.
"True, but I can't help it." It was silent between us while we both watched TV. "So how did you like the vacation." I smiled.
"It was nice. We should come back." I almost threw my hand to my mouth when I said "we," but Cal just laughed and nodded.
"Yeah, we should definitely come back." It fell silent again. It was getting late, and I could feel myself drifting off. I had to ask Cal something before I forgot.
"Hey, Cal."
"Yeah?"
"So I was talking with Laura..." I started to get drowsier and my speech got slower.
"Okay..."
"And she was talking about my parents." I let out a large yawn and unconsciously laid my head against his shoulder. "And she told me that she knew my mom. She also told me that your mom knew my mom." Cal didn't say anything, so I continued to talk. "I need to meet her, Cal. I have to."
Cal didn't say anything, but he didn't have to. I was drifting off against my will. Like always, Cal was able to carry my to my bed. The bed dipped as he climbed in to put me down. But as I started to finally drift off, I realized I never felt him leave.

"Wake up!" I jerked away by the sound of Cal's voice. He was leaning over me, already dressed. I sat up and rubbed my eyes.
"Christ..."
"We need to leave soon. I gave you as much time as I could to let you sleep." I got up and noticed that he set clothes out for me. The bags were already packed and sat near the door.
"You, sir, are a control freak," I said sleepily as I walked to the bathroom.
"I am not."
"No, but you may be a perfectionist." I slammed the bathroom door before he could retort. I also tried to hurry in the bathroom so he wouldn't be able to rush me out. When I came out, I was still as grumpy as I was before.
