"Are you ready to go yet?" Louis calls, cheerfully.

Today was your third day on holiday with Louis, and he had decided to take you to the local zoo; a place you'd both been keen to go to since you booked this destination.

So far, you had spent a lovely day exploring the city of Y/D/D, the culture, food, and beautiful views, along with visiting a few nearby restaurants and visiting local tourist attractions.

You grab your phone, heading out of the bathroom and towards the door where Louis was standing, waiting to go.

He smiles once he sees you, opening his arms out as he embraces you in a warm hug.

"You look so lovely, as always." He comments, squeezing you lightly as he kisses your forehead.

"Oh, stop it." You scoff, shoving him away lightly.

"Why don't you stop upstaging me then?" He says, rolling his eyes playfully.

"No one could upstage you." You assure him, softly.

"Well, you're doing a good job." He tells you, earnestly, reaching out for your hand.

"Come on miss, let's go." He says, his smile lighting up your entire mood to euphoric.

You head out of your hotel room, going downstairs and out of the door into the beautiful city.

The delightful sunshine was sublime, as it made your skin tingle with joy. The fact that you got to spend this wonderful day with Louis made it all the more amazing.

Firstly, before your make your way to the zoo, you find the small local cafe you had been visiting for breakfast every day so far, only this time, something felt different.

The greetings you received was warm and welcoming, just like the day before. Yet you could feel eyes burning into you as you sit down, giving you the uncomfortable feeling of being watched by someone.

You look around, not seeing anyone looking your way, as you try to shake the feeling off.

"Hey, are you okay?" Louis asks, his eyes softened in concern.

"Yeah, I'm good." You smile, reminding yourself that this was your time with Louis as you pushed the bad feeling away.

But the bad feeling didn't go away; you could feel it in your gut, telling you that something wasn't right.

You look around again, this time noticing the eyes that had been watching you as they stare into yours.

It was him. He's here, in the cafe, and he's looking right back at you.

"...And then I said -"

"Hmm?" You interrupt, only just tuning back in on Louis' conversation.

"Y/N, have you even been listening to me?" He questions, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry, please, carry on." You say, feeling guilty for zoning out on him.

"No, there's something bothering you. What is it?" He asks worriedly, chewing on his sandwich.

"Nothing's bothering me, I'm just a little overwhelmed." You respond, completely shocked by seeing your ex boyfriend again.

You weren't with him for long, as it didn't work out. He broke your heart, and you found it difficult to move on after him.
