New chapter two!

Ani pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil. She saw no point in listening to the teacher; she would be leaving soon anyway, she hadn’t actually stayed in any school for longer than two months since she started school. Slowly she started drawing.
Annoyance shot through her as a shadow covered her desk; she wasn't in the mood to play new kid. "You must be the new girl. I'm David."
Ani looked up at where the soft male voice came from. He looked about as tall as she was and was nicely built, could have been a foot ball player if she knew none of them would talk to her. He had shaggy brown hair that he pushed out of his eyes as she looked at him. His eyes reminded her of pure honey right out of the bee hive. "My name is Ani." She found herself answering.
He smiled back, flashing perfect, white teeth. He quickly sat next to her. "I'm glad you chose our school. Welcome to Delovks High." He was the first person to actually sound real when they said their welcome.
Brice voice came from behind them. "David, what the hell do you think your doing? Don't tal-" He stopped dead as he saw the look David was giving him. "Are you telling me what to do Brice?" he asked. His voice suddenly had a dark tone to it.
Brice quickly shook his head. David smirked. "Good. We don't want coach knowing your being mean to his niece." His voice went back to normal once Brice backed down.
Ani sank into her chair and glared at him. "How did you know that? No one knows that." she didn't need everyone being nice to her because they were afraid she would tell her uncle on them. That was the reason her parents said they moved here. They wanted to be closer to her uncle, who she hadn’t even learned about until two weeks before they moved. She hadn’t even met him yet.
David tilted his head slightly, clearly confused, such a cute puppy look on his face. "I'm the Quarterback. Coach tells me everything about anything." He suddenly turned and looked at the other foot ball players. "You leave Ani alone." They all nodded.
Ani looked at him a little shocked. Why was he talking to her? "So wait. You’re the Quarterback of the foot ball team?" David nodded. Ani was still shocked. "So you’re talking to me why?" she didn’t have a very good history with football teams. She was the outcast, no one popular was supposed to talk to her.
David laughed; Ani couldn't even thing of a word to say how heavenly it sounded. She’d never even thought a guy could have a laugh like that. It was so musical. "Coach told me to look out for you. At first I thought it was going to suck having to look after the coach’s niece," he smiled. "Then I saw how darn pretty you were and changed my mind."
Ani felt a blush creep into her cheeks and she quickly looked away. This had to be some kind of joke, she wasn't pretty. She wasn’t used to this kind of attention. The only guys that had ever shown any interest were creeps and horny men who wanted a quick lay. Of course she quickly showed them that they were barking up the wrong tree.
Suddenly all the color drained from her face, she felt a twist in her gut then the numbers on the board started spinning again and solving themselves. She felt panicked; normally it took a little while for it to get this bad. Just as she was about to ask if she could leave the room a cool hand rested on her shoulder, the perfect temperature against her hot skin. "Take a deep breath and calm yourself." a silky smooth voice whispered in her ear. She recognized the voice as the boy who had stopped her and Jason's fight.
Taking a deep breath all of the numbers started to slow and became less terrifying. She suddenly turned, wondering how he had known what was wrong. Confusion filled her as she saw he was sitting in his spot next to Jason talking to him. What exactly had just happened? Did she make it up or had he really helped her? If so how did he even know that she needed help?
