Ani could feel someone watching her. Even though she was sleeping she could feel it. She forced the sleep from her mind and opened her eyes. She jumped into a sitting position and pushed herself against the head board. Her father was standing at the foot of her bed.

He smiled. "Hello Ani. I hope you slept well. It is time for dinner, so I have come to wake you." She didn't move, causing him to sigh. "I understand you are upset with me, however you do not understand. I have been looking for you for thousands of life times now. I love you more than my own life."

Ani relaxed slightly. She had a feeling that he was telling the truth. "Can you leave now? I need to get dressed." Plus he terrified her. She had a feeling he wouldn't hurt her, but he could hurt her friends.

He nodded. "Of course. Also, if you do not like the dresses that wardrobe is powerful. All you have to do is think of what you want and it shall appear." He slipped through the door and disappeared.

Ani jumped out of the bed and ran over to the wardrobe. She quickly thought of an outfit and pulled it open. She grabbed the jeans and tight black shirt and slipped them on. She walked to her door and opened it.

Lucifer was waiting for her. He looked her up and down, his eyes narrowing. "That is not a very lady like way to dress."

Ani smiled sweetly, she had chosen those clothes to annoy him. "I like these clothes." She made her voice was sweet as her smile.

He forced himself to smile as well, then he offered her his arm. Ani took it and started walking with him. She felt...safe with him. She looked at him. "What is she like?" she suddenly had a million questions filling her mind. That one the loudest.

He glanced at her. "What is who like?

Ani had to take two steps to match his one. "My mother." He flinched. "What is she like?"

Lucifer seemed slightly uncomfortable with the question. "I met her before I fell. Her and I met and fell in love. We decided to join." He glanced at her. "Marry." He explained. "She was the most beautiful person I had ever seen and the sweetest person I knew. Her hair was a golden river down her back and her eyes such a vibrant green." He sighed and relaxed into the memories. "Her wings were not the normal white either. It's where the red in your hair come from. Her wings were as dark red as they could be without being black at the top and went through every shade until it was an almost white red at the tips."

Ani looked at the ground in front of her. Her mother sounded beautiful. "Do you love her?" She found herself asking. She asked in the present tense on purpose. She needed to know if he still loved her mother.

He stopped walking and looked directly at her. He watched her for a moment. "Yes. I love her with all of my heart and soul. I love you more, however. You are a part of me, no matter what happens my blood runs through your veins."

Ani kept her head down. "I would like to meet her." She whispered, almost to herself.

He shook his head and started walking again. "Heaven has forbidden me from seeing her. She is under constant guard from everyone." he was on his guard again, no longer relaxed.

Ani took his tone as an end to the conversation and decided not to push him farther. She didn't know what might set him off. They walked silently to the dinning hall and when the door opened Ani noticed they were the last people to show. Everyone was waiting for them to show before eating.

Lucifer walked Ani to her chair and pulled it out for her; once she sat he pushed in her chair and went to his throne. He didn't say a single word and just started eating. Everyone else started as well.

Ani looked at her empty plate for a moment, then let out a breath and gave in. Closing her eyes she imagined an apple on her plate. When she opened them, after feeling a slight tug behind her eyes, she saw a bright red apple was on her plate. She smiled and grabbed it, hearing the crunch as she bit into it. It reminded her of Adam and Eve.

Lucifer narrowed his eyes at her, but stayed silent as he continued eating. Cain however had to cover his mouth to smother his laughter. Guess they were thinking the same thing.

Cain’s reaction caused her to start giggling, but she controlled it and took another bite. She normally always laughed whenever others laughed. It was a weakness of hers.

Cain however couldn't control it. "So princess. Do you feel smarter?"

Ani burst into a fit of giggles and had to put her apple down.

Cain continued with another question, this one more daring. "See any snakes?"

She grabbed her sides. "Stop. Please. I can't breath." She laughed harder.

Cain smirked. "Seen Adam lately?"

Ani laughed so hard it hurt. Lucifer put his fork down and glared at them, but that just made them laugh harder. Suddenly Ani stopped, the pull in her head getting closer. Jake was coming.

Cain tilted his head, still laughing slightly. "Did daddy scare you?"

She shook her head and looked around. She knew Jake and the others were coming for her and she knew she had to distract them from knowing. She looked at Lucifer. "So anything I should know father?"

Both Lucifer and Cain stared at her in shock, then Lucifer cleared his throat. "Yes. You shouldn't go anywhere alone. You may be my daughter, but Demons cannot always be controlled." his voice shook slightly, he seemed in shock from her calling him father.

Ani nodded, listening but not really listening. She took another bite of her apple. "Don't go out alone. Got it. Anymore?"

He thought for a moment. "Be careful who you speak to. You never know what might be a trick." He suddenly smiled, his eyes bright. "Oh yes, that reminds me. I have created a schedule for you to see your friends. I will show it to you after dinner."

Ani forced a smile back. She could feel the pull getting closer. She jumped as Cain said her name. "Ani. Do you miss your friends?"

She watched him, trying to figure out his angle, then sighed. "Yes Cain. I miss them very much. They're my only friends."

Cain glanced at Lucifer. "Lucy here doesn't know what its like to lose your friends, we all fell with him. Me though, I understand. I have a few friends I lost because of your father." he sounded almost...sad.

Lucifer glared at him. "That is enough Cain." His voice was dark. Ani guessed this must have been a touchy subject for them.

Cain was about to say something when the doors exploded open and the guys ran into the room. The guards right on their tails. The room erupted into chaos as they tried to catch them.

Luke reached Ani first and grabbed her. Ani noticed David grab Jake. The breath left her as Luke jumped into the air, then suddenly a sharp pain went through the back of her head and everything went black.
