Security Steps Up

David glared at Luke. "What's going on?" He growled, his voice taking on a dark and scary tone.

Luke smirked. "What does it look like David?" He sounded like he was having fun upsetting David, messing with him.

Ani took a small step back as a burning fire raged in David’s eyes. He took a step forward. "Daddies not here to protect you now Luke."

Luke stepped forward to meet him, a smirk on his face. "I don't need him to beat you, David." He spat out his name.

David launched himself at Luke, though before he could reach him a hand grabbed the back of his shirt, causing him to choke.

Ani watched, slightly panicked, as a large man with short red hair and green eyes put David in a head lock. David started to reach up to grab the man’s arm when he saw Luke shake his head slightly. David relaxed and chuckled lightly. "So who did security send this time?"

Ani took a step back, frightened. Luke grabbed her arm. "Stay still." He whispered. Ani froze, not moving.

The man behind David laughed a deep booming sound. "You should know better then to fight, especially in front of the new girl."

David strained his neck, trying to see behind him. "Stain? Is that you?"

The man shook his head. "No its Leach. Stain is behind Luke and the new girl."

Ani whipped around and her eyes widened. A man stood behind them who looked exactly like Stain. He wore all black. She had no idea what was going on and could feel fear coursing through her.

He gave her a small smile. "Almost had to grab you, glad you didn't run. You must be Anibeth. Lovely to meet you."

David chuckled. "She likes to be called Ani, Stain." Stain nodded at what he had been told, excepting it without question.

Ani flinched back from them. "Who are you? What’s going on?" she tried to keep the fear out of her voice. It took a lot to scare her.

Stain smiled. "My name is Stain. My twin is the one choking David, his name is Leach. We're part of the school security."

Luke sighed. "The school has a very strict policy on fighting. So armed security guards patrol the grounds, though they stay hidden."

David started laughing. "You're probably coming from their office Luke." Luke narrowed his eyes. "At least I'm not in there every week."

Ani stepped between them. "Knock it off. This bickering is getting you no where. Just stop." She glared at both of them.

Luke relaxed and gave a small smile. "You’re right. Besides I've missed way to much class today. Don't want to miss any more." He turned and walked off.

Ani turned and looked at David, he was alone. Stain and Leach had disappeared while she had been yelling at the boys. Where had they gone?

He smiled shyly. "I'm really sorry about the way I acted. Will you walk to class with me?" He sounded sorry and upset.

Ani narrowed her eyes. "You promise no more fighting? No more judging people, at least in front of me?" She put her hands on her hips, waiting.

David nodded. "You have my word Ani. I won’t fight or trash talk no one. Today." He crossed his heart. "Cross my heart."

Ani sighed. It was the best he could do and she knew it. "Thanks." She smiled slightly as David wrapped his arm around her waist and started walking back to class.

Out of the corner of her eyes, Ani saw Jake watching them, a scowl on his face. Before she could act on it David pulled them around a corner and she couldn't see him any more.
