"Zoe! We need more glitter on the w. Are you even listening to me?"

Suddenly, I felt a pat on my head. I quickly sat up, looking around. My arm was wet with my saliva, my eyes shuttering from the brightness of the light. When I did, my head slammed into the lamp above the table. I rubbed the back of my head, but when I put my hand down, my fingers brushed the glue bottle on the table, tipping it over onto the paper, and of course that action made the glitter packets burst, sending everything into a pink snow-globe-area.

"Zoe!" Harley Chatterson said, grabbing towels to mop up the glue and glitter.

"Sorry! So sorry! My bad!" I said, trying to help her.

"Why were you on the desk anyway?" Alicia Tripp asked while she scooped some of the glitter into her hand.

"Sorry guys, I'm really sorry." I repeated over and over while pulling the garbage can closer to the table. "I haven't slept in a few days, I'm stressed about the first day of school, I've had coach up my back all week-"

"Just forget it Zo. We understand." Harley said. "Being the most popular girl in school has it's ups and downs, right? I mean, you're the class president, the cheerleading captain, debate co-leader, you have a charity soup kitchen presentation-" She looked down at me. I was staring at her with a blank look on my face, crossed arms around my chest. "I'm not helping, am I? Sorry."

"Zoe, you need to relax." Alicia said. She took my shoulders and started to rub them gently. "You'll get through this, but you're too stressed to do stuff right now. Take a deep breath. Relax."

"I don't need to relax, Alicia, I need to start working on this banner for the first day of school-" I said as I started to get up.

Alicia pushed me back down into the chair with my shoulders. "You need to relax." She said sternly. Harley finished cleaning up the mess and tossed the rest of the spread out glitter into the trash can.

"Well, now that's over, but we only have a few glitter packets left. How are we supposed to finish the banner?" Harley said.

I looked down at the unfinished banner.

Welcome to Longfellow High! It said. Harley was right. The w did need some more glitter, but now that was impossible.

"We can always go buy more glitter tomorrow and finish it tomorrow night." I said.

"Can't. I have a ballet recital tomorrow, and it's going to take all day to prepare for it." Alicia said.

"And I have a basketball game. Besides, school starts the day after, all we have is tomorrow." Harley said. I stood up and took a big breath. "Is it me, or do all of us have too many sports to handle? Cheerleading, ballet, basketball, soccer-"

"Okay, well, I have to go pick up my little sister from summer camp tomorrow. It takes a few hours to get there, but I bet I can squeeze in getting glitter." I said. "Now, let's at least try to make this banner look good for the time being."

"Totes." Alicia said, sitting back down and picking up her sharpie. "I think we need more smiley faces."

Driving to my sister's camp had to take the whole day. Plus, it totally sucked that my alarm clock went off..... a half an hour before I woke up. I scrambled to brush my hazelnut hair, find my crop top tiny tee tanktop, grab a cup of coffee and sprint out of the door.

When I was finally driving to the camp, my hair was in a messy bun (the not-so cute kind), and I couldn't find my crop top tiny tee tanktop, so I settled for my cheerleading-practice tanktop, the kind that had it's straps formed into the t-shirt part and said sweat it out on the front.
