Zoe

I had made it through my first week being Quinn, and I was starting to enjoy it. That night I jumped off the balcony was the first night I actually learned how to fly. Something about Quinn's DNA made me learn it almost automatically.

After that, everything came very naturally. It was like I was becoming Quinn, though I knew I was still Zoe inside. I started to relax more, and I started to like having a father again.

Nathan showed me little more once I got flying and using powers down pretty well.

Tonight, he was going to show me other places around Fluttershy.

"Come on, slow poke!" I yelled, jumping down from the balcony. I heard Nathan laugh as he finished putting everyone to sleep.

I felt the air in my face, my eyes closed. Though I was getting used to flying, I was still afraid of heights. I put my hands out to feel the wind in between my fingers and opened my eyes to look at them. I saw blue dust run from them and trail above as I fell. My hair batted all around me. I felt free.

"Zoe! Wings!" I heard Nathan call. Instantly, I remembered that I needed to fly before I crashed into the river.

Unfolding my wings, I caught myself just a few feet above the ground, flapping them with great force. I saw Nathan come from above me and fly next to me.

"Nice job paying attention, Quinn. It's like you're a ninja." Nathan laughed. I hit him in the chest lightly with the back of my hand, smiling. "Come on, follow me."

With one tilt of his body, Nathan was flying forward, and fast. I did the same, making sure that I kept my center of balance in the middle of my hips. I watched as Nathan turned a corner to go around a tree, and I did the same, shifting my center to the side just a bit, then straightening out.

He led me through the woods for about an hour, twisting and turning to test my flying. But just as I was turning the last corner, I almost ran into him. He had stopped so suddenly, I whipped my body back and almost kicked him in the head. He laughed as I landed, taking a deep breath.

"Here's the first stop." Nathan said. I looked out past him to see a large lake, but I shouldn't talk, since I was two inches tall.

"You took me out here to look at a lake?" I asked, panting as I sat on the grass on the edge of the lake.

"Just wait." Nathan said. He stood at the edge and cuffed his hands over his mouth. I plugged my ears just as suddenly as Nathan made a buzzing sound as loud as he could.

"What was that-"

"Shh!" Nathan said, crouching down next to me and putting his hand over my chest like he was protecting me from something.

The water began to ripple over the lake, and I scooted back a few paces. Then, it began to splash. Suddenly, a large object emerged from the lake, jumping out like a dolphin, only three-hundred times larger. I looked up at it and saw something scaley and smooth. It splashed down in the water, causing a huge wave coming straight towards us.

"Fly!" Nathan yelled, and quickly flew up into the air. I couldn't process it fast enough before a large wave crashed over me. I held my breath as the water carried me a few feet away from the lake. I found myself leaning against a tree far away. Nathan found me a few seconds later, giggling. "Sorry, I thought you would hear me."

I looked at him with annoyance. "I did hear you. A little more warning in advance please?" Nathan laughed as he helped me up. I unfolded my wings, but Nathan put his hands up to stop me.

"Don't. You'll rip your wings with all that water in them. Just walk for now." Nathan said. I huffed and put them away, taking one soggy step back to the lake.
