"Shh! She's waking up!" Alicia said, putting a finger over her mouth. I instantly turned to Harley, who was on Alicia's bed, and flicked my fingers next to me so that all of them were flailed outward, my eyes glowing. Harley's eyes fluttered open, but she didn't move.
"Where am I?" She asked. "Hey! I.....I can't move!"
She tried to wrench her body away from my grasp, but I held my magic strong against her. That's when she saw me.
"Alicia! What's going on!?" Harley screamed. Alicia came beside her and sat next to her, my body not daring to move to cause a ripple in my powers, just enough that Harley could potentially attack. "Why are Zoe's eyes GLOWING?"
"Harley, settle down." Alicia said.
"I don't want to settle down! I want to know what's going on and why I can't move!" Harley screamed. Alicia looked at me, and I closed Harley's mouth too, so that Alicia's parents didn't suspect anything going on. She started to scream inside her mouth.
"Harley!" Alicia said. She stopped screaming. "That's not Zoe. Her name's Quinn. She's a fairy."
Harley gave her a look that said that she didn't believe Alicia.
"That's why you can't move or talk right now." I said, eyes still glowing. Harley looked at me as I talked. "And by the way you're looking at Alicia, I can tell you don't believe me. That's why I'm going to prove it."
I gave Alicia a nod, and with quick movements, I let go of Harley, who started to charge until Alicia grabbed her and pulled her back to the bed. I came over to her and stood in front of her. I stressed my back muscles, and out came my wings, shadowing Harley and Alicia from the lamp behind me.
"That proves nothing. It could be a backpack or something. You're not a real fairy. Fairies don't exist." Harley said, a smug look on her face.
Or are they? I sent to Harley's mind.
"See?" Alicia asked Harley. For a split second, she seemed convinced, but that soon faded.
"See what? That she can talk without moving her lips? Who are you, and where is Zoe? And why are you supporting her?" Harley asked Alicia.
"Because Zoe and her switched places for a while, and Zoe's in another world right now. This is Quinn." Alicia said, still holding on to the hostile Harley. She leaned over and whispered into Harley's ear. "She's also a princess!"
"If you're really a fairy, show me something that I would believe!" Harley almost yelled.
"Are you sure you're up to that?" I laughed.
"Do it! I dare you!" Harley yelled.
"Alicia, let her go." I said. Alicia immediately obeyed, and as expected, Harley charged. I caught this and moved to the side, hands behind my back, but fingers swirling and eyes glowing. I stood perfectly still.
Harley, however, did not. She went right past me and into the portal I made in the wall that led to the other side. After a second, Harley stepped back into the room and tried again, but with another swirl of my fingers, hands still behind my back, I grabbed her body with my magic and twirled her around. The portal disappeared as I made Harley spin in all directions.
Suddenly, I froze her mid-charge. I walked up next to her, a smile on my face and my eyes still glowing.
"Believe in fairies yet?" I asked.
"Never." Harley said.
"I was hoping you'd say that." I whispered. I looked at Alicia, and she nodded, biting her lip. Bringing my hands up, dust swirled around them until they crawled into the air and around Alicia's face. I saw Harley look at us from the corner of my eye. The dust entered Alicia's nose, eyes and mouth, picking her up from the bed. She walked over to Harley, circling around her. I made her look as creepy as I could, staring at Harley until she winced with fear. Finally, she turned away.
